Hello everyone, I hate to do this...but it worked with some other people. My cat Murdock went to the vet yesterday with an eye injury, and she explained that surgery is required to remove unusual ridged tissue from his eye that formed and the tested to make sure its not a tumor. Myself and my significant other are disabled, and have tried applying for credit cards, loans and Care Credit (a card specifically meant to help) and have been denied due to not making enough money.

I am loathed to do this...because I hate asking for money but my cat really needs help. If you could consider just looking at the below link and even just sharing to get us out there I would appreciate it.

Murdock Needs Surgery

Thank you so much...

If you have any questions on this, please ask...thank you.

Oh dear I'm sorry you guys are dealing with this. My own kitty is sick with asthma and these fires here are murder on his lungs T.T How urgent is the surgery wanted by the vet? Would they be willing to accept pay plans or work with you guys if you paid half right away and made payments on the rest?

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.

hey hun...thank you so much for replaying!! the vet said the surgery should be done soon, but gave us drops to help...surprisingly we think that when they flushed out his eye they got what ever was in it causing the raised bump...and the antibiotics are now healing it...we are trying to keep our fingers crossed that the drops and his eye are healing...

I have been so scared to put him under the anesthsia...I have this feeling he wont wake up no matter what the tests before hand say...but..because it seems to be helping...we are going to continue with the drops and take him in for a second examination to see what they say...if theres no tissue left for them to laser off then there is no reason for the surgery...and from what were seeing the raised scar tissue is disappearing only after 3 days of treatment T^T its making me so hopeful that he will be ok...

sorry for the ramble...but we were going to try and save up...we set aside money this month and then we were going to add that to money from next month...that was the plan.

I am so sorry to hear about your kitties asthma!!! hugs poor thing! do you have a air purifier in your house? I know that helps both me and my animals with the allergies and the pollutants...Im so sorry your having fires over there!!!

How old is your kitty? And has the improvement continued? I hope no surgery is needed in the end.

And no air filter or anything in the house :( His asthma is triggered by things in air AND air temps so it's fun keeping things level during winter and summer. I will have to hope roads are ok in winter or I'm not getting his meds regularly due to the fact I have what is apparently racing tires on my car XD

he is 4 years old, I adopted him last august from a bad home and have been helping him recover from is trauma of being abandoned and the abuse...hes a good boy...

His eye is almost completely healed!! Im so so grateful hes getting better, we are going to do another checkup next month, but its only been 5 days...but its looking 100 percent better!

Im so sorry about your kitty! I can imagine its hard to try and regulate the temp. I hope you will make it ok. I know its hard to have a cat that is special needs...

Yeah when I got my kitty almost 10 years ago now (wow time flies lol) he was a christmas gift from my then BF. We thought he was going to end up being deaf due to the fact toys caught his attention /IF/ they had movement/glittery things. The noise did not get his attention at all. We had to pick a name for him for the vet records and we just started saying things despite the fact we thought he might be deaf. For 20 minutes no replies from the cat. I said Rico and he looked up, shortened it to Rio and he came running at me XD

WE took him up to BF's moms house and she looked at him only to discover he had ear mites SO bad it not only plugged his ears, but you also couldn't see the bumps and other details you normally can inside the ear. Felt so bad for him, she took out enough to fill a small prescription bottle and we took it to the vet and had them treat it. Made them do it free because they declared his ears to be "clean" and ear mites to get THAT bad takes more than 2 days.

His asthma didn't start until he was 5 or 6. Turns out the age cats get it is from 4-8 years old. And anything little can start it from litter changes, to environment (allergens), to even weather changes. So it's been a learning experience for sure.

Also YAY happy eye for the kitty! I hope so much it stays that way, surgery is scary enough when it's a normal one like getting fixed. I can only imagine the stress with a different one and then the care after.

my hubby and I used to rescue cats (when we had more space and money) and we have seen some messed up bad stuff on poor kitties. I am so sorry to hear about the ear mites...it can be a rough journey...I think Rio is lucky to have you :) your sound like a good mommy! and good on you for telling that vet whats what! we had a problem with vets too...we finally found a good one (that Murdy went too) they just actually called to check yesterday on how he was doing...so nice there...

anyway...I know we are always learning of more and more diseases for cats its insane and sad...regarding Murdy...hes becoming a terror again..LOL (hes hyper and feeling good) and him being a 15 pound big cat...well...he can take me out...lol but his eye is still healing but getting well...the vet said to bring him in next month like we planned...which is a good thing. and now...I have to go chase him...lol
