No matter how many times I write them, I always misspell "weird" (wierd) and "definitely" (definetelly). Are there any words you always have trouble spelling properly?

I also have to double check myself when I spell the word "Street". No clue why, when it's in my hand writing it just looks wrong :L

There are so many words that for the life of me, I can never spell right. Thank god for spell check.

Most things with regular OR irregular ie/ei sequencing. Like receive. Sieve. Seize. Receipt.

I always forget the first 'r' when I spell surprise (suprise) lol I don't know why I do it. And I always mess up definitely if I'm not paying attention (definately, definitaly...)

Definitely is my headdesk situation. I always write "definetly" and it's just plain annoying. Or chose and choose, I'm always like "is it this one or that one or .. " and I just change the damn word instead. And holy god the word apartment . I CANNOT FANTHOM HOW TO WRITE IT! I always write "appartment"(blame my frenchie here) or I write it correctly and flip a table. There is also appointment which I always butcher for "apointement".

Necessary. I hate that word and never knew how to spell it but I finally somehow drilled it into my head that it's one c first then two s's instead of nescesary or nesecary or neccesary or anything like that.

Also responsibility. It's mainly typoing because I know how to spell it but I always have to slow way down and sound it out so I don't miss one of the I's.

Sargeant - supposed to be Sergeant Lieutenant - I spelled it right that time but sometimes I make the a another e.

Available. I always add in an extra I on accident. Guarantee is another - that comes out "garuntee."

And the word February. I always spell it Febuary xD

I won't get into all the words I misspell on a daily basis. However, the main one I can think of right now is suprise. It's not that I don't know how to spell surprise. I just never add the first r because that's not how I pronounce it. I type how I talk. I don't say sir-prize I say suh-prize. So I just never add the first r on purpose.

A few years ago I always misspelled February as well

You reminded me about "Colonel". It's pronounced "ˈkərnl" and I find that annoying. Always used to mess me up.

I do occasionally get mixed up with IE/EI words. I sometimes have to remind myself of the typical "I before E except after C" rule (I usually remember the exceptions rather well).

I was pissed off the other day because I was writing in a notebook and couldn't spell "convenient." Now I think the word for how it's spelled rather than think of how I pronounce it person ("con-VEN-ee-ent" instead of "con-vEEn-ee-yint").

I also forget whether or not you're supposed to keep the ending "E" from "judge" in "judgement" mainly because of words that don't keep the "E" like in "argue," because it's spelled "argument" not "arguement." "Knowledgeable" is another one I get confused with.

I have a degree in English and I still struggle with spelling sometimes! I'm really bad with fuchsia and guarantee in particular. Darn that hot pink colour :U

I still have troubles with weird a/e words that are not pronounced like they are spelled (curse you, lazy schwas!). The only word I can think of is "cemetery" (which I spell "cemetary"--we say "sem-uh-TARE-ee" for goodness sakes. The long "A" sound should be an "A") I also have a problem with "precipitation" because I grew up saying "percipitation", which is how I end up spelling it if I'm not careful!

It took a whole term of biochemistry for me to finally learn how to spell "protein" correctly. And during writing my MS thesis I finally learned how to spell "committee"--which would always end up with not enough doubled letters. I try to nail down at least one difficult-to-spell word every year.

As a scientist, it's more difficult for me to do spell-checking, because there's already so much red on the page from perfectly reasonable words ("acetolysis", "saffranin", "xeric"), scientific names of plants & animals, and author's names that it's easy to miss a real misspelled word!

I have Auditory Processing Disorder, which means I can't spell for crap because I can't sound words out and have them make sense. I usually laugh at someone when they ask me to spell a word. There are a lot of words I have trouble with, including: -Alcohol. You would think I could spell that, considering my username and gallery. But no. I can never remember where the Os go. -Opinion. -Definitely -Apparently -August. I always want to put an e in the second u spot. I have no idea why -Endometriosis. You think I would be able to spell that since I probably have it. I always end up having to pull up google to make sure I spelled it right. And most of the time, I didn't. -Interesting

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Why must English be so confusing? All I can say is, thank goodness for Google.

Every time I write/type it I stare at it for a good few minutes debating with myself over whether it's actually spelled that way or not. Engineers are notoriously bad at spelling, yet that's basically the only everyday word that trips me up. KEY. Ugh.

you know..there is a lot of words I know the meaning of...and all that but for the life of me cant spell. I mean...for the longest time it was vacuum...I was trying vaccum and vaccuum it drove me nuts...though I also have words that...like sometimes I can spell them and other times it is just gone...I cant be the only one...who looses a word I mean.

I usually miss an r or spell it with an io instead.

I cannot spell the word "beautiful" without saying in my head "bee-ah-OO-ti-full".

Also have trouble with spelling conscious, consciousness and conscience, and also when and how to use them in sentences.
