I love fan pets, and I was interested in seeing what everyone has created! Here are mine with links to their profiles :D

Tak the Outsider - based on Stephen King's character Tak, from Desperation and The Regulators. Tak's my favorite character from literature EVER :D His minion is based on Blaine the Mono, my second favorite King character (on whom the Wayne minion is based).

Desdinova - based on the main character in Blue Öyster Cult's album Imaginos; he has several names including Desdinova, Imaginos, and Buzzardo, but I like Desdinova the best. His minion is based on Imaginos's canine familiar.

Yuuki the Twilight - based on the character Yuuki the Twilight in the anime Giant Robo. His minion is a character/monster from the 1960's live action Giant Robo series.

Tenukii - based on the boss Tenukii Chaud in my favorite video game series, Aero Fighters/Sonic Wings. Her minion is based on another boss. She's my favorite VG villain ever ^X^

Volk - based on another Aero Fighters character, and my favorite VG character of all time. His minion is based on another character (with whom I pair him, hehe).

Drifblim - based on the Pokemon Drifblim. Drifblims are my favorite thing in the whole world, and why I love balloons so much! His minion is based on Drifblim's unevolved form, Drifloon (who is basically the Pokemon version of Balloony :P). I haven't made Drifblim's profile yet, but his story is that he came to Subeta and saw some candy he wanted... so he disguised himself as a Harvester to get it without attracting attention ;)

Yeah for fan pets...for a while, I dared not to create fan pets because I really feared that I wouldn't do them justice. But then, I decided to just have them for my own enjoyment...and turned out, working on fan pets really aren't that intimidating.

Torment is my sweetheart, and he's based on DC Emerson Kent from the British crime drama Whitechapel.

Asset is based off Marvel's Winter Solider/Bucky.

Marconi is based off Person of Interest's minor character, Anthony "Scarface" Marconi. And it is the longest fanfic I've wirtten (I'm not good at writing fanfics, but I gotta do this).

Saw is an OC based off the concept in the Saw film series.

Hotchner - Agent Aaron Hotchner from Criminal Minds. I used this name for an OC a while ago, but just recently decided to remove that story and purely dedicate this pet to Hotch.

Mads, well, the name says it all. It's a tribute to actor Mads Mikkelsen.

Nuada, based off Prince Nuada Silverlance from Hellboy 2.

Also, I have a bunch of fan pets that I haven't started working on them yet (so I won't link them): Ludwig, a tribute to King Ludwig II of Bavaria; Jigsaw and Hoffman, both of them are going to be based off the Saw film series; Nikola, a tribute to Nikola Tesla (real world version and Syfy's Sanctuary version); Jones, a tribute to Ianto Jones from Torchwood; Durden, well, Fight Club of course; Mischief will be a Loki tribute; Nazgul will be a LOTR pet; Rumlow, that little shit hydra double agent in Captain America 2. Viking, will be a fan pet based off the TV show Vikings.

I used to have fan-pets but adopted them all out. Maybe soon I will make one again and actually finish it haha.

@ LoftyBalloon I think most of my Pets are fanpets, since I enjoy them more than OCs. Haha. :D

I really like your Pets as well, though! Drifblim's Treasure is cute already! And Desdinova's Profile looks nice! :D

Also, I do think Fanpets are a good way to get to know someone without even talking to them before, since you can actually see some of their interests already. Good way to find someone with similar opinions on some things. XD

Have you ever seen the movie 'Wise Blood'? It's an early Dourif movie based on a novel by Flannery O'Connor (my favorite author!). I also especially love him in Alien Resurrection. I'm like the only person ever who likes that movie, but he is sooo good and creepy in it!

And thanks :) I love Drifblims so I was really happy to get that name :D And I agree about fanpets. Most of my pets are... in fact, except for Cosmo Topper (who is based on my dog), all my OC pets came from liking the pet design and then later making up a character for it XD But the fanpets I created specifically.

The only fan pets I still own are:

Joffrey - based on Joffrey Baratheon from "ASOIAF/GoT"

Skinny - based of Skinny Norris from "The Three Investigators" (loved the books and radio dramas when I was younger and he was my favrourite character)

Pyotr - based of czar Pyotr III from "Le Chevalier D'Eon" (but maybe going to make him into an OC eventually)

and then there also is Cletus who was originally based on a character from the computer game "Deponia" until I decided to make him into an OC instead. I just decided to keep some traits of his original appearance as well as character traits but changed everthing else (story, setting...) also started to use him in a RP quite a while ago. I wouldn't call him a fan pet at all anymore x'D

My problem is: I am just bad at working with fan pets. I really prefer the fact of "freedom" you have if you work on your own created characters instead of working on an already existing one because you have to make the pet (especially the story) to turn out to be as close as possible to its original.

I have a few, trying to move them away from direct copy of characters to my own characters inspired by or living in the work's universe. None of them are complete at all but I will link them anyway for my vanity's sake. :P

Barbastella, Queen of the Galaxy, based on the 1968 movie Barbarella Blind Mag, based on the beautiful Repo! The Genetic Opera character Kinesis, a Dead Space fan pet (one of my favorite games ever!) Kolchak, The Night Stalker, from the titular character of the show of the same name Mushi-Shi based on Mushi-Shi :P a Mushi master who walks in the footsteps of the legendary Ginko Yeoman, general Star Trek fanpet, redshirt who is also my battle pet muahaha

Most of my pets are fan pets, although most of them are only worked on in a tc-sense and not in a profile/art-sense.

I've only got two, but here they are

Laegolas - Based on Legolas from LotR, but mostly the Legolas from the LotR musical. I just really liked their interpretation of the character, and finally getting to hear my Elf sing! Michael Rouse has the perfect voice for him, imo.

Kukkamuna - Based on Hanatamago from Hetalia, Sweden and Finland's tiny fluffy dog. Because everyone loves tiny fluffy dogs. Kukkamuna is "flower egg (hanatamago)" in Finnish, which makes way more sense than him giving her a Japanese name.

I used to have a bunch of fan-pets but I found them really hard to write profiles for and just didn't enjoy working with them as much. Agyness (Deyn), Bambi, Kourtney (Kardashian) and Mary-Kate (Olsen) were fan-pets originally, but I'm pulling away from those themes and working on original character ideas. Maybe I'll keep a couple of hints toward their namesakes, though!

I still have a couple of fan-pets, though: Golightly is based on Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's Emeli & Saoul are both OC's living in the Pokemon world Russell is an OC living in the American Horror Story: Coven world

I love seeing what people do with fan-pets, and when they are done well, they can be amongst the best pets onsite. However, I have to second 's point!

I have 2 fanpets and 1 sorta fanpet.

AML as I affectionately call him, was given to me by a friend with the profile already made up. I haven't had the time to fix and update his profile or info yet.

Chakram is a Xena Warrior princess fanpet that I just have to have.

The other is a fanpet based off of AML but in a different sense. She's the child of a pet that is literally the same as AML but with a few changes. Kyra

I don't do well with fanpets myself unless I'm really into them.

Most of my pets are just fan named and not actually related to the character from where it is borrowed.

For my few actual fan pets I have Sweetgrass Voice and Ishka. Sweetgrass Voice is from the webcomic series Digger by Ursula Vernon. While this was a minor character in the overall story I really liked her and created a fan pet. The story is based off of one told in the comic.

Ishka and Myr have had much of their mythos based on the world of the Pillars of The World book series by Anne Bishop.

The rest are just in name only and not based on the fandom they were taken from. Samuel is taken from the Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs and Jeremy is taken from Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. Though yes, all those are very common real world names.

Inara and Atherton had their names taken from Firefly.

Shardae had her name taken from the book series Hawksong by Amelia Atwater Rhodes. It is the main character's last name.
