I've been mulling this over for a while and I'm curious what folks who know a lot more than me think of it!

This suggestion is only for the first post of threads in order to keep things simple. I would love to be able to give other users "edit" access to first posts I create. Mainly, a friend and I run a CW shop thread together, and it'd be so cool if she could give me permission to edit the first post, which she posted :)

I can see it being helpful other times, like for folks who run giveaways, contests and the like and run them with help from other users.

Has there been feedback from site admin on an idea like this before? Can you guys find any holes in the plan that'd make it a terrible idea? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Especially since I'm not familiar at all with the "back end" of things so I never know how feasible ideas are :)

I remember made a suggestion about it, but I can't find it.

Personally I think the forums are fine as is. A partner can always use the second post, and there is no chance of petty revenge editing that might happen if one person unintentionally pisses off the other.

@ Klassikal Hmm I'll poke around for that thread, I'm curious about other people's thoughts :) Thanks for the lead! And for your input, I can see it going sour. But then I figure the original poster can revoke their admin rights...but as for the gap in between them noticing, that's a good thing to point out.

I just see it as tough because the second post is sometimes glossed over :) The way our shop is set up we use the second and third posts for our individual items, but it'd be so boss if we could both just edit that first post and have all the items/slot lists/updates there.

o-o The other thread really gets into it! My suggestion would be much simpler. If you choose to allow another user to edit your original post, you are liable for anything that happens in that post. If the person breaks the rules, it's on you. If you break the rules, it's on you. Because you're the original poster. None of this seeing who edited last stuff :) I just figure if I'm choosing to allow another user to edit my post, whatever they do in that post is my fault/business/liability. Like letting someone else drive the rental car you rented, for example xD It'd just be one of the risks of allowing someone else access. As for that not being fair- it would be fair, because the rule would be enforced the same with everyone! Give people edit permission at your own risk, basically. That way it hopefully wouldn't be too much extra weight on the site admins.

As a former UA, I can tell you that there would be too much BAAAAAAAAWWWW Y DID I GET WARNED even if people were TOLD they would be held responsible.

Also, what if the warning caused by the other person was the last one you had on your account? You're going to get frozen and it will be a clusterfuck for the UA staff.

Darnit, humans ruin everything xD Ha, I can see how that'd be infuriating on the UA side. I'm a "too bad, so sad, you knew the stipulations" person, but I also work in customer service/support and it's not realistic in my field, either. I feel like most of our time at work is spent picking up the pieces that result when people don't follow simple guidelines o-o I appreciate your input!!

I didn't like this idea last time, I still don't like it now. It'd just be too messy, and I don't think that many people would use it aside from CW threads. Like was already mentioned, they can claim the second post and edit there. It's less convenient, but also a lot safer

No other forums have this feature and ours don't need them either. There's already CW drama without something like this to fuel it further. Subeta's new forums are also very problematic so I would consider this a waste of programming resources. Best case scenario, not enough people would even use this to make implementing it worth it.

I think maybe my life is so drama-free I became unaware to the fact that there is drama around me xD I didn't realize there was so much CW drama like that. Very good to know! I also don't really know how many other forums work. Thank you both for your input!!
