The trailer for the last Hobbit movie came out yesterday. I'm seriously fixing to hyperventilate from how excited I am.

Always been excited for LotR and Hobbit stuffs. Always so amazing looking. C:
I'm so excited for this movie I can barely contain myself. Using Pippin's song was not a cool move, they should have warned us for the heartbreak. Gave me chills so bad I'm probably going to replay the trailer just to keep cool in this terrible summer heat. Then again, I guess heartbreak is exactly what we should be preparing for. :C
Yet another Tolkien trilogy coming to an end is super bittersweet and slightly terrifying though. Perhaps one day we will get a trilogy for Silmarillion, that's all I ask for.
I'm looking forward to this last movie, but I really wish they hadn't deviated from the book so much in the last one. It has me a little worried how they might change the stories and all of the book characters with all their tweaking.

Hahaha to be honest I'm just looking forward to seeing how disastrous it is. Don't get me wrong, I love this trilogy and I'm such a fangirl for it... but in my opinion it's just 80% worse than the LotR trilogy, because WTF HOW DOES ANY OF THIS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOK. I still have some hopes for the last Hobbit movie, and I'm looking forward to watching them all as a marathon when the extended editions are out. :3
I am excited for it, even with the changes from the book.
i'm seeing the midnight showing tonight i literally just bought the ticket i'm so nervous ;___;
[edit] don't watch this fucking movie
aaaah your avatar ❤️
major spoilers ok
personally i'm kinda 50/50 on the film like it was heartbreaking (although kili's death was kind of shit it could've been so much more meaningful than their shitty titanic spin) and some bits were really good but i agree with this critic here
"The 144-minute running time showcases Jackson's worst tendencies: eons-long battle scenes, sloppy and abrupt resolutions, portentous romances, off-rhythm comic timing, and, newly in this case, patience-testing fan service."
^ literally everything that annoyed me about the movie
what did you think??
Hehe I'm glad you like it. It's hard to find items that would look like Bilbo's face. XD
spoileeeerrrss
I actually liked this movie the most of all the Hobbit movies. I mean, with the first two, I left the theater really disappointed, but after BotFA I felt okay. The thing that bothered me most about the battle scenes was that there were unnecessary things like huge worms and trolls etc. Like, can't a battle be epic without creatures the size of houses?
There were some scenes that were cluttered. Like the ones about Legolas' mother - so out of place and Thranduil being all "your mother loved you" in the end was weird. But all in all, I think this movie was more well put together than the first two.
I hated Tauriel/Kili from the start, so nothing new to say about that. Only that their relationship made the characters talk like they were in a clichéd romance film where people fall in love and get hurt and wonder why things happen. Lol.
One of the best things was Thorin's dragon sickness. Richard Armitage's acting was so good, and I didn't even like his character much in the previous films.
And I have to say, all I wanted from this movie was for Thorin to say the famous "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world", but it was changed into something really bleak. :/
well it definitely matches freeman's bilbo.

yeah the worms were kind of too much like tremors? i thought it was clever how they just dug the paths for the orcs though, it would've been shit if the worms had actually fought.
idk i haven't read the book myself so any screentime for thranduil was thumbs up for me
it would've been really fucking annoying but not as shitty if it had just been a side-plot, like they have their little bullshit romance thing but then they had to go and fuck it all up by making kili's death some kind of star crossed lover thing instead of making it about the durins
yessss armitage was so convincing. i was a bit bummed out by how he was all 'fuck all of y'all' and then after the hallucination scene he pulled a 180. just seemed forced and rushed.
fili's death tho?? i was in shock. what the fuckkkk.
also i'm so sad they made tauriel all about the kili romance which? wasn't necessary to make her a valuable character. i actually liked her. she was too good for a subplot like that.
my friend just played 'i see fire' in the car i may or may not have wanted to die a little
