So on Friday the 18th I had my wisdom teeth extracted and everything went pretty normally I felt--there was some pain but nothing that I really felt was out of the ordinary recovery pain. On Wednesday the 23rd I started to get this pounding headache that radiated through my jaw & lasted the entire day. I still have the headache but it has gone down significantly, to the point where it's just kind of lurking in the back of my head--like a constant grogginess kind of. Sometimes I wonder since I've had the headache so long that I'm just imagining it.

There's no pain from the wisdom teeth anymore, but this small annoying headache is driving me kinda crazy. I'm worried that something isn't healing right. There was no post-op appointment(which I thought was weird but w/e) so I called the dental place today & they said since the headache didn't appear until Wednesday that it was probably unrelated? and that I should see a medical doctor about it?

idk idk I'm just really worried now that something has disturbed the healing process along the way and now I'm being deferred incorrectly. Did anyone else experience some sort of constant headache after wisdom teeth removal? idk if I buy that this is unrelated since I've never had this problem until this extraction. Searching online hasn't really helped me that much. I can't see a doctor until friday but I'm hoping this all just kinda goes away by then and I won't have to.

The grogginess, yes, definitely. Your body is using a lot of its energy to heal you right now, so that's quite normal. Are you still taking pain meds for it (it's been quite some time since I've had any oral surgery done, so I don't remember how long the meds generally last for)?

If it doesn't get any better over the next few days, I'd see a doctor just to be safe. So make an appointment, and worst case scenario you can cancel it if your condition improves.

I hope you feel better soon! =(

I think you should see a doctor to make sure that your headache doesn't derive from some sort of post-surgery complication. After my wisdoom teeth were removed one of the wounds became inflamed to a point that my jaw bone started to soften and besides a mild pain in my head I didn't notice anything, only a post-op appointment brought the issue to light early enough.

Get well soon.

thanks guys I think you're right; I decided to make a doctor's appointment friday and see if there's anything I should be worried about. If anything I had some other unrelated questions about my body I've been meaning to ask a doctor for quite some time so I can get that stuff out of the way, too.

I haven't been taking pain meds for it; they gave me some ibuprofen for my surgery but I feel like it was giving me some acid reflux & nausea which is worse than the very minor headache I have. The headache is so minor that it doesn't really impact my life at all, it's just something I remember that I have every once in awhile.
