I'd like to get back into running or jogging. I tried today running and well..I only lasted a blockXD Should I keep water handy and drink more? Also try jogging maybe slowly so that maybe I can get used to running? or just jogging faster. Another factor today was that it was really humid from the rain earlier. I guess that effected some of it. Is there certain foods to eat the day before? Isn't it like carbohydrates so like stuff from the grain/wheat family? Certain clothing materials that would make it better/they breath better?

Start small, end big. I suggest you to start by fast walking, see how you can hold it. Then, you move on the slow jogging on small distance. The more you push, the more your body will adapt and handle. Always carry water with you to keep hydrated and limit the muscle sore. Do some prep before jogging/walking fast (again to limit the soreness). If you go out of breath, you're doing it wrong :P

When it's hot or humid, never go over 30 mins unless you are with someone (if anything happen, I wouldn't try it tho). You can also take a breaks when it's too much.

I have to agree with you should never run more than 30 minutes when its hot/humid outside. I live in Atlanta so I understand the hot/humid struggle. xD;

I always try to drink a liter of water and eat a decent meal (if nothing else a protein bar) an hour before I run to have the energy to run, and help with cramping and sore muscles; this is also easier for me since I run in the evenings. I'd also recommend some light stretching to limber your muscles up, then walking and progressively getting faster. If all you can do the first week or so, is power walking, that's better than you were doing!

Progressively move up to jogging, then running. One thing that helped me get back into it after an injury was running with a shorter stride. I would always have terrible shin splints after a run, but that really helped. Also, making sure I had the right shoes, I used to run in very minimal running shoes, but finding shoes with the right support definitely changed everything.

Good luck! C:
