So, the question I am asking is: Is this a lie that was placed in the description of the shrub? Why? Why does the shrub say that if it is not true?

It's not really a lie, it's just not completely clear. You do have to grant a wish first, but you get one wish per day if you do.

Staff hasn't been super clear at all about how the shrub works, it's not that they're trying to intentionally lie to us, it's just that they haven't had all their information clear and together at all.

The wishing shrub has made me extremely frustrated for most of Peka-Boo. :( The staff should make the wishing shrub more clear... This just confuses people.

I don't think it's a lie. A lot of people, myself included, have been able to make wishes without granting them first. For me it has flipped back and forth between the two.

I'm not really sure how it was intended to work. It makes sense to me that you shouldn't have to grant before you can wish yourself and that the force granting is to encourage more people to participate.

You have to grant a wish to make one. If you get lucky and catch the shrub at a time where there's an open space though, you can grant a wish for free. That's so that there are actually wishes available, since if everyone always has to grant first, there would be no wishes to start with.

That's been explained before by staff, just not from the beginning and not in a news post as far as I know.

There's also a thing where you can carry over a wish you've earned by granting one, onto the next day. I thought it was only supposed to do that if you haven't used your wish the same day, but I don't know how it actually works. I know I was able to wish once without granting first, but I only tried once without granting first and I did grant several the day before so I'm not sure if I got lucky or what. This is the biggest mess right now trying to understand how this thing works lol

I've only had to grant a wish twice. I think the first one I did willingly. But yeah, a news post would be nice. There's' a lot of frustration coming from all directions with this, and I personally don't spend a lot of time lurking through the forums and comment pages.

I haven't granted a single wish yet. They are just too expensive... :( Maybe I'll get lucky one time and find something cheap.

Cheap things do show up, but you have to stalk the shrub because they usually get snagged pretty quickly. I was lucky to find a few cheap wishes and now I have all 10 done.

As for granting - you don't necessarily have to grant a wish to make one. Try at different times (you'll probably be successful if you do it quickly late at night/early morning/midnight) to submit a wish without granting and it might go through. I think I've made 3 or 4 without having to grant.
