I granted someones wish last night, was able to make them today, waited for it to be granted, was never granted, went back to make a cheaper one and now it says I have to grant someone elses /again/?

-Disease Your wish doesn't carry over just because it wasn't granted. The way it works is that you have to grant a wish to get one, unless you get lucky and catch the shrub at a time when there's an open "slot" for a free wish.

so even though I paid to grant one mine gets deleted at the end of the day just because it wasnt granted...

-Disease you granted a wish so that you could make a wish. You made that wish, and it wasn't granted. Therefore, when the shrub cleared at the end of the day (which it has done every day), the process started over again. You could keep trying back to see if you can catch the shrub when there is a free slot and you don't have to make a wish first :D
