I wasn't sure whether to put this on help or the price check boards so please move if it isn't meant to be here.

Just in the last few weeks the price for wiz tokens has dropped ridiculous amounts, does anyone else think it's due to the Pekaboo tickets costing wiz tokens or is this just natural devaluation as the market has more of the tokens available?

Just going from 22K for 20 tokens to 9K seems a bit extreme to me...

People might have been hoarding for an event that involved tokens, creating a bigger supply. Only everyone only needs one ticket, and tokens are really easy to come by..

That's my guess anyway.

I think it's the latter...the wizard hands out a lot of 20 pt tokens....

Its very easy to get tokens from the wizard combined with the cap on vending, so there's less use for the tokens overall. High supply, low demand = low prices.

I loosely track the value of WT, because I have tens of thousands of them that I don't have a use for. If I think the price is high enough to be worth my trouble, I sell them for converting them into sP, which is a much more flexible currency that's always worth something. Vending bores me, and even though I'm often here, I miss many of the TS restocks. I trickle a few away every day doing Mallarchy Pond. (I do Wizard Quests for the sP + Quest Points only, the WT are a side-effect of this)

Prior to Peka-Boo, the price went up sharply. I sold a few thousand at the peak. The precipitous drop you are seeing now is them going back to their usual going rate since the price settled down after the Morostide HA zapper closed down.

No corresponding drop in how many WT the Wizard gives out was made when the vending limit was put into place. Unless the site comes up with other WT-using events it's likely that the price of WT will slowly continue decreasing until October.

I'm pretty sure they were inflated during the ticket sales for peka-boo because they were more in demand and now that most people already have access, their worth has dropped back to it's "normal" worth. But it's also possible people keep undercutting and without a need for anything from the token shop, not many people are buying them (right now) so they just keep dropping, but they'll usually end up back at the worth of the token/normal price (aka a 20 will be worth ~20k, etc..).

I don't think their price/worth is actually gonna really decrease much more because maybe people aren't using them for the wiz shop, but I know lots of people who vend every day, so they pretty much spend everything they earn from the wizard, and then there are always token shop releases, so it'll still be in the same demand. But their price does fluctuate daily, so one day you might see a 20 point token at like 15k and the next day you might see it at 22k.

Makes sense - I haven't done wizard quests in some time so I wasn't sure what the going rate was for them normally, especially since he used to give out 10s and 15s before the quests changed.

I hope you're right - sP from the wiz are good but the tokens certainly help when they're actually worth something ^_^
