I've saved the image, I've saved the description and everything, but there's no submit option? Is that all we do? I'd hate the thought that we might be left out if there's something that I'm overlooking :/

yes it is safe to change. The Band Image was a snapshot, so you could've changed any time after your Band's leader made that image.
