I'm getting my Senior pictures taken tomorrow and I have to say... I'm really excited!! And also kind of nervous. It's being professionally set up, and for free because I was chosen from a group of about 20 students in my town to be a Rep for the studio.
My mom also wants to take some pics and I kind of want to take a few with my cat that I've had since 1st grade. <3
I don't know where I'm going with this but yeah :3 I'm excited.
That's great! It's nice you get to do it for free. Taking senior pictures over here was ridiculously expensive.
Thank you! It turned out nicely :)
Oh I know. It would have been $250 for a small session and a few prints. It's so insane. I'm going to have my mom take an extra one for me... With my cat xD She's been my cat since first grade so it just seems fitting :3
Congats! Sounds like fun! I didn't have senior pictures but I had that one senior yearbook picture taken. And it was on my birthday and the day before I had my eyebrows waxed for the first time ever and the redness and swelling didn't go away, so yeah you can only imagine how bad I looked :(
Aww that stinks :(, but thank you! The most awkward part for me is when they say to smile with teeth; I had braces and they made weird spots on my front top teeth so you can see them when I smile :/ But other than that I'm happy with what I've seen.
Oh gosh I never smile with my teeth! I don't know why but whenever I do my mouth becomes uneven and I don't look like I'm smiling. I look uneasy or something haha.
I usually don't either for that same reason.. It's just so awkward. I look like I'm forcing it hard xD It's sorta like a.... :I face
Sounds interesting, my senior pictures never included such an opportunity. What does 'representing the studio' mean?
In fact mine pissed me off. After none of my shots came out I'd went back for a second shoot and he'd taken these extra shots they called 'glamor shots' which weren't eligible for the yearbook but just for giving out because of the backdrop color being purple and not blue. The photographer had been the one to suggest the purple and didn't tell me this ahead of time. So it wasn't completely fair when the sample set came in the mail for me to select a yearbook shot and none of the glamor shots were there.
When the yearbook comes out it gets even more messed up. There are several student photos with the purple backdrops. I'd preferred my glamor shot to my blue backdrop shot, the blue backdrop shot was horrible.
I do hope you enjoy your experience though.
Pretty much it is just they take a few students, take their senior pics, and then use those pics as models in a sense, for other clients. Like on Facebook, twitter, etc. social media. And Thank you! I hope the pics turned out good. I'm still waiting :P
Also, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience /: I probably would've thrown a fit, as would my mom
My senior picture turned out pretty bad - mostly because I didn't have it done professionally and the yearbook club somehow saw fit to zoom in a lot on my face, with my really poorly chosen expression, so it looked like I was staring oddly at the picture next to mine. Since yours is being done professionally, I think you'll likely do fine.
That's unfortunate /:
Sooooo many people have told me stories of how theirs didn't turn out and I'm getting scared xD But the photographers are really nice and professional so I hope they turn out at least decent (after all, they are doing it for free).
Unfortunate, but thankfully the yearbook was considered pretty awful due to a ton of spelling errors and overall poor design, so the only thing worth really looking back at are the signatures. Nice and professional? Sounds great. I'll sure you'll turn out well, particularly if you're acting as an model of sorts for them. ;D
Our yearbooks at my school have been that way for the past few years also xD Maybe its a highschool thing.
And thanks, I'm crossing my fingers!! :)
Oh my mother doesn't think I'm capable of a horrible photo. She likes both shots but is considerate and won't put the blue background shot up in the house anymore since moving into this place.
I was super awkward at 18 so I didn't enjoy senior pictures as much as I should have. D:
That's pretty awesome! I hope you have fun and they turn out lovely.
I let my dad do my photos when he first started dabbling in photography. I'm embarrassed about mine because I wore tons of flowers in my hair. It was pretty on its own but made me look ridiculous among the other senior photos. :P
