So I went home for the last weekend of June and my roommate, Lexi, went to California with one of her friends for that same weekend. While we were gone we were supposed to have this girl named Megann move in with us. Neither of us got back until last Wednesday and we finally meet Megann and she tells us that there is actually another person that moved in over that weekend too. We didn't actually meet this other mysterious person until yesterday when she came back. Apparently she'd been gone since the Wednesday we got back.
Well yesterday, Lexi goes to work (she works at the apartment complex we live in) and she finds out that Shalise (the mysterious roommate) had called management complaining that we were having raging parties that kept her awake at night. She complained on Thursday, I think, that we had a party over the previous weekend (the last weekend of June). Not only were we out of town the weekend she says the party happened, but we hadn't even met this girl until yesterday! We talked to Megann to see if she knew what it was about and she had said since it was so quiet here that she was staying at a friend's house over that same weekend, so literally NO ONE was here except Shalise. Now Lexi is in trouble with the managers here and at risk of being fired because they think she's not following the rules.
We have no idea what even happened and why this girl that didn't even know us until yesterday would make these false allegations against us. We have a theory that our other roommate that doesn't really like us may have trashed talked us and scared this girl into trying to move, but that's about all we can think of that would make someone make up such a lie and go to management about it.
Question: How do we even handle this in a non-hostile way?
PING ME!

If it's an apartment complex noise will resonate on the walls, sometimes making it difficult to pinpoint where it's coming from. She may have accused you thinking it came from your apartment when it was actually somewhere else. That's assuming it was a legitimate mix-up.
Assuming she lied about it, maybe you could present some kind of proof to the management that you were all away for that weekend?
With that said, I find it very hard to believe that the management would take the word of someone who just moved in over the word of people who have been living there since before (unless you already have a reputation for disturbance to begin with).
Oh and you should confront her about her lie, if you haven't done so yet!
Hope this helps ~
The noise thing would be viable if there were actually people living in the apartments next to us, but since it's summer there isn't anyone living in the apartments that share walls with us.
Also, we did explain to management, but they still have to keep their eyes out just in case it wasn't a lie. I had roommates who complained about me last semester because they didn't like that I wasn't Mormon and I had my boyfriend over a lot because they stopped talking to me. Lexi doesn't have any past complaints, but because she works here they already watch her as if she has. Management is also biased against me and Lexi because we're not Mormon. It's not harsh enough to claim religious discrimination, but they definitely favor those of the Mormon faith around here and Shalise is Mormon. :/
We're planning on having a roommate meeting but it's super awkward because she looked like she about shit her pants when we even asked for her phone number. It's also really hard to confront her without getting frustrated because Lexi has to "keep it professional" and we don't want it to seem like we're ganging up on her.

Are all four of you sharing the same unit? if so are all of you on a legal lease or what is the deal?
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
Yeah, we're all sharing the same unit. It's a 6 bedroom apartment and the complex rents out the rooms and assigns people to certain rooms. We all are on separate leases because they technically lease out the rooms individually.
UPDATE: We just found out that now she's also complained that we are stealing her things! She doesn't have hardly anything out in the shared areas and we were all gone last night when she made the phone call. She's home almost all day so if anything was stolen (which there wasn't), then she would've known who did it.

Ok so then you are all legit in the lease as far as paperwork goes.
Is there any possible way to get room locks? then this way you each can keep your things locked up that you want away from risk of theft or misuse and then leave anything to be shared out in common spaces? And for room locks I mean like locking doorknobs with keys or are you allowed to install like a hinged hook thing that you can place a pad lock on?
This way each of you only have access to your own rooms and nothing else and you can leave a copy for each lock with the office so if they needed to get into a room for any reason they could.
Also if you can gt room locks maybe make a list signed by all of what got deemed for use in common areas? Like person A's tv, person C's area rug, Person B's couch and chair? it's sucky and almost petty this is happening but these few extra pieces of paperwork will save headaches later on.

Yeah, all the doors have locks (like the kind without keys), but you're also allowed to install your own doorknob, which I have so I have a key to my bedroom. I'm not worried about my stuff being stolen because I have the doorknob and I don't keep my important things out in the common areas. She's claiming that we stole her stuff, which I know didn't happen because I'm very close with Lexi and Megann was with both of us all night. Even if she thinks someone stole something, then she can go buy a doorknob and lock her stuff up, it's not our or management's responsibility to keep her stuff protected and management probably told her that. That probably came off insensitive, but this girl is telling complete lies to management about us.

No I get it. I was just wondering because some leases don't allow extra locks unless the office also has a copy of a key for it.
so yeah on that she's on her own to protect her things. for all she knows it could have been a so called friend of hers who swiped it while she was in another room. Unless she can go "yes that's MY purple plushie because it has make up under it's ear that's brown because when I was 5 I played dress up with it and now it's in HER room" she can't prove much.
It seems this one is out to cause you guys issues no matter what so I would say keep a log of things, even just receipts, to prove when you were away from the place so when these "bad things" happen it can be better tracked.

Seriously. I have no clue what anyone would've supposedly taken that belongs to her, considering she's only had things here for a week and most of it was locked in her room and we're not ones to go snooping through stuff.
