I believe it ended back in 2008. Subeta wanted to pull away from real world Holidays so they replaced all the existing ones with their own. Since there's no New Orleans in Subeta there's no Mardi Gras.

you can use your Mardi Gras masks to dance. The first Masquerade, they were the only affordable ones around. For that one, us dancers were the wealthy and the hoarders.

I was brand new that first masquerade, and I danced my ass off. I feel like there were masks to get another way. Anyway, that's beside the point, ahaha.
