I've been heartbroken ever since Subeta changed the art of the Bloodred Warador, which was my favorite pet of all time. My beloved Houzukimaru went from looking like an amazing kick-butt warrior to a terrifying bloody clown. I get that is the whole concept of the Bloodred pets, it was just a huge bummer to discover him changed like that one day.

I've been looking for a new color for him ever since, and was leaning to Reborn since it was the best of the new art with kind of that smirk that I loved so much about the old Bloodred pet and the staff was nice, too. Then, THEN they released the Storm Warador and I knew it was fate.

Expensive fate... but what the heck. Scrounged together my sP, used the CSC I was going to get a Gold account with and found a kind and generous soul to sell me the Storm Potion. ♥

I am so, so happy right now. Unfortunately, I need to find him a new minion, but I don't think I have ever been happier with a pet color! Hooray!

I still like the BR Warador but i know how you feel...it's hard to get used to it when they revamp a favorite pet. One of my first pets has been a BR Warador ever since i created him and the revamp wasn't entirely what i expected, but it still fits my pet and i think it looks great. I'm just relieved he still has his axe (he's my main battle pet and i still think he looks like an amazing kick-butt warrior, lol). I was not so thrilled about revamps of some of my other pets so i overlaid them with the old art.

I'm glad you were able to find a new color you like for Houzukimaru while still keeping him as a Warador...i don't think they tend to get as much love as they deserve so i'm happy to see someone else who appreciates the species!

The art for the BR Warador is still fantastic, and I think that for a battle pet especially, it is very appropriate! It's like you said though, sometimes the revamps aren't what we expect and in my case I felt like the personality went from being more playful to more... blood thirsty? I guess, although that probably isn't the best way to put it.

I don't have huge long stories for my pets and what not, but I do definitely imagine each one of them as an individual, and it was disappointing to have to change when he had been Bloodred since the beginning, but the new look just didn't work for his personality.

However, I have nothing against the pet on the whole! Bloodred is one of my favorite colors just on principle (the revamped art is always... woooooowww) and I love the Warador, so high five for that! :D

That's exactly how i am with my pets. I'm not into writing huge stories either, but each of them definitely has a distinct personality in my head. I had the same problem with the Escalade revamp you had with the BR Warador - i think of my Escalade as a very serious, austere creature and the revamp made him look all cutesy. It just doesn't fit him, but i really want him to remain an Escalade. Fortunately, i'd already made a slightly edited overlay for him using the original art, so he still has his old artwork on his page. But i don't feel like paying to make overlays site-wide so i just have to accept that he looks kind of off elsewhere.

As for my BR Warador, his personality was greatly influenced by all the games of Rock-Paper-Scissors i played with him when i was new, so i have all those obnoxious phrases from the game stuck in my head for him. He's always been kind of a jerk. With his new art, i just see him as kind of a more grown-up jerk clown. XD
