Not saying they are too pricey or anything but I noticed there are some coming up that are 30,000. It had seemed that most of the items were under like 15k.

I haven't noticed this as something new. The Wizard has always occasionally done this, just like other quest grantors ask for items that are too expensive for expected payout.

Maybe it's because I'm not a consistent enough player but it seemed for weeks he was asking for really cheap junk now it's a bit more expensive.

all quests cycle around to times where a lot of quests arent doable becoz of expensive items , it happens every 4-6 days per quest cycle to me too.

this is interesting to me. I haven't been paying too heavy attention to whether or not the payout is good, because I'm mostly interested in the chance for Quest Points. I will often overpay unless it's really high.

Does it happen to just one quest, and then it goes to another, or do they all do this?

it happens now and then 2-3 questers at a time , it has rotationally happened to me to all quests including Carl. It shows up as a combo of high priced quests combined with weak rewards in the same quest session . Weak rewards are uniform no matter what rarity items you procure .
