Guess who my English teacher was back in high school?
I can't believe thus, he was one if the best teachers I ever had....i don't know how to feel about this....

Stuff like this doesn't even surprise me anymore. To be honest, I'm waiting for something like this to show up about my 9th grade history teacher/ track coach because all the signs were there back then.

Hah, I know how you feel. In class I'm all, "dont look at me, dont touch me, dont make eye contact with me, please dont talk to me." But say something outside of school and I'm a hurricane. PS, I love your HA. :-)
Wow...that's really shocking D: I wouldn't know how i'd feel either if one of my teachers got arrested like this...
It's sad and scary that people in power positions like that either don't realize how the dynamic makes a relationship like that wrong/abusive or simply don't see anything wrong with it/don't care. It's way too often that a teacher 'falls in love' with a student. There was a girl in my highschool that people were always teasing because she seemed way too close to the basketball coach. The victim is often made out to be the one in the wrong by other students on top of any pressure from the authority figure, it becomes too scary to 'rock the boat' and get out. It's easier to lie to yourself and say you wanted to be there and lie to others pretending it's not happening than to come clean and get help. Thank goodness for those nosy parents figuring things out!
It doesn't surprise me but it's still sickening. My old middle school principal was arrested for public sex with two other men. Doubt his wife and kids were too happy about that.

Feel gutted, initially, then determined that he should get whatever's coming to him, justice-wise. It would be far worse to learn that your old English teacher molested students and had gotten away with it.

I know how you feel. My favorite history teacher in high school had a similar scandal of inappropriate actions towards students: see article. I feel shocked; last I knew he was happily married with a baby boy. I can't help but wonder what went wrong with his "happy family".

I know I'm playing devil's advocate here but without knowing the exact details, it's kind of hard to slam the teacher entirely. Parents overreact all the time and unfortunately, if this is one of those misunderstandings, then not only should they be charged for filing a false report but also sued by this guy because both his life and teaching career are now ruined. I'm also rather annoyed that the parents don't trust their kid and invaded his privacy like that.
