I might have it, and honestly I'm pissed. I don't care about the baby part, my issue is that I am unable to lose weight after 3 years of gym training. Instead of losing weight, I gain it. My doctor want me to go back to the pill, I agree that it helped with my .. "manly" hair and my acne as well as my period, but is it worth the risk?

How do you control yours?

I don't have PCOS but I probably have endometriosis so I have a good idea how you feel. Like you, I don't care about the baby part because I don't want to have kids anyway. I'm on birth control and it helps a lot. As long as you eat healthy, continue to exercise, and don't smoke, you should be fine in the long run. I'd also recommend you looking into one that doesn't affect your weight.

I was on the pill 2 years ago. I stopped because I thought that my back ache were caused by it. I realised that it wasn't the case. I'm just not comfy with the danger of taking them. I'm obese, but it could be the only way for me to have a normal life and lose weight.

I have pcos. Try taking loestrin 24 fe. I didn't have any bad side effects with it. It regulated my period. For people with pcos, birth control does more good than it does bad. Please don't let the "risks" stir you from taking it. It could change everything because it gets your hormones back in check.

I was also put on metformin and spironolactone. With metformin, while exercising regularly and eating better, I lost almost 100lbs. The spironolactone is for facial hair but it takes months to build up in your system and start working. I quit taking it regularly and noticed by facial hair is coarser and thicker.

they took me off the metformin because apparently my sugar and everything was normal though i don't see how when i've stopped exercising and gained all the weight i lost back plus more

I have blonde hair so they are not really noticeable? But I see them and some of them are black because I had to pull them out. My doctor talked to me about metformin, joined with a birth control. They are also checking me for a brain tumor at the same time.

I considered getting them pulled out with laser and stuff like that, but there are no guarantee that they won't come back with my weird hormones. I have taken the pills so I know how good it ended up to be for me. Thank you for your input tho!

they did the same for me when i was first diagnosed. i'll warn you though, the scan they do for a tumor cost me $500 and they only did it because a certain hormone was less than 5 points higher than normal. it definitely wasn't worth it, but you never know.

i've considered getting laser hair removal as well, or buying the nono, but it's not guaranteed to be permanent for people with hormone problems.

Most of the stuff are free here. But my mother have private insurrance, so I'm okay. I'm not getting a scanner yet, just checking my blood. I have to get an appointment for my echography tho.

I've heard that some people bleach them with a type of dye for the face.

yes you can bleach them, but that doesn't take away the feel of the hair ya know? that's what i hate the most.

also since you're having trouble losing weight, you might want to try belviq. i've seen commercials about it recently and they have where you can get a voucher for 15 days of free medication if you want to try it. the website is http://www.belviq.com/.

Ah yeah, it feels itchy. It doesn't itch for me, except a small part just under my shin. I do them with my eyebrow twizzler and it's fine (has to be done every 4 days or something like that..)

I'm not trying any drugs. I'm the healthy way type and I already wasted enough money in stuff that just made it worst. And I'm a strong anti-diet, but thanks :P

Sorry for the late response. Crazy past couple of days.

I understand not being comfortable being of all the possible side effects. They scare me too. Work with your doctor and see what the best brand for you would be. There are so many different types and brands.

I have PCOS and fucking hate it! Pardon the language!

I hate the acne [at my age!] and the facial hair, even though it's really only one little patch underneath the right side of my chin and a few strays here and there on my face.

I hate that no matter what I do the weight still remains.

I'm on Metformin but don't believe it's working and Spironolactone because I absolutely can not take birth control. It affects my Bipolar.

The biggest thing is I'd love to have a child, even though I'm pushing the age limit, but it doesn't seem like that's gonna happen. :(

My OB/GYN thought about putting me on Clomid because of my wishes of having a child but after 2 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy and being nearly 7 months now without a period whatsoever, I'm really at the point of asking them just to remove everything. It doesn't work anyway, what's the sense of keeping it in there?!

I won't have a choice if I get a positive outcome out of it.

Oh lord, the eternal nowhere patch of weird dark hair. I have it too and it's the weirdest thing ever! The acne is driving me nuts, I'm just really done with it.

I'm sorry you are having soo much issue. I wish you could get pregnant :( It's heartbreaking to see a woman willing to concive, but unable to. I'd say don't give up? My personal opinion would be to remove everything now and to save myself fromd taking shitty pills, but they obviously refuse.

It sucks that I can't conceive but I'm still remaining hopeful. I haven't asked the doctors yet about removing everything, so I'm not sure what their reaction would be.

I think it's unfair that we are pretty much made to play the guinea pig game and take shit tons of meds that may or may not work just because they don't want to grant a woman her personal preference. The 'plumbing' doesn't work so why not remove it and be done with it?!

Because a lot of women actually had up to 3 childrens with PCOS. But I don't want children, I'm even ready to sign a form? It's just .. complicated.

PCOS, man. I'm happy with the inability to conceive, but I retain weight like its no ones business and the facial hair is it's something.

Metformin is pretty much a miracle. I've been on it for like, two years now?? I don't have as many periods as I did before though, even without sex being a part of my life, so it's a little concerning.

Never saw your post, sorry ;u;

Yeah, the weight and the facial hair is really something .. I'm getting my echography in a couple of days, I don't know how I feel about it. Are you on birth control too?

Nope! I switched doctors, and this one refuses to put me on birth control because of my weight, even after explaining that it isn't to prevent kids and that I tend to lose weight on certain types of birth control. I had to look up what an echography is, but that sounds really cool. It's literally the same technology that they use to map out the ocean floor, being used on bodies... When I found out about mine, they were actually going in for a burst appendix and found out on accident when I was 14. They did a blood test after that, I think?? The actual diagnosis wasn't until a few days later, but it was really unexpected.

Really? Mine is all about the pills, tbh. I won't deny that it helped me: weight control, LESS PIMPLES, less boil, didn't lose my hair, less facial hair and my periods were on point.
