Window Seats, Carpeting, and Other Home Wearables

Originally this thread began as my suggestion of backgrounds featuring window seats and ground-layer items featuring carpeting. Every time a new background resembling a painted wall, or wallpaper, or anything of the like, is released I start to wish we had these things, too, so I thought I would finally make a suggestion about it. ; u; But I've expanded this suggestion thread to include home-type/interior decorating-themed wearables in general. I know that some of these things are available as CWs, but I think it'd be nice if these things were available as official items - sold in places like Home Appliances and Thimble & Co., and more accessible to users, because they're fairly basic items. I am among those who are surprised that these items aren't on-site already!
I will be working consistently to keep this OP updated and organized with all the ideas everyone comes up with. Please feel free to mention it here if you have a suggestion for a related wearable that you'd like to see on Subeta!
Backgrounds:

I know we have a few items that feature windows already, like the Color Swatch line from Home Appliances and the Unfinished Window Frame line from Thimble & Co., but I don't recall ever seeing a (non-CW) item featuring a window seat, let alone a wearable one. It's a shame that there aren't any!
Some pretty examples:
Even a single line of recolors would be lovely and much loved - the same background, essentially, only turned into a set of wearables, each a different color, like staff has done already with lines like the Beach Plates and Seaweed-Wrapped Driftwood. And decorative pillows, blankets, bay windows (vs normal windows), and maybe even opened books or cups/mugs of tea could be gorgeous additions to the window seat. Also, if the windows are transparent (like they are in the Color Swatch backgrounds), they would be really versatile, because we could layer them over other backgrounds.
It might also be nice if we had a few separate window seats - wearables that are not full backgrounds, but could be paired with items like the Color Swatches.
I would love to see window seats so much. I'd forever be in the debt of staff if this becomes a thing, oh my gosh.
bay windows
We have at least two lines of wearable windows already, but I don't recall any featuring bay windows. I mentioned them during my window seat suggestion, but now I'm talking about bay windows by themselves, as several users have mentioned. I am not sure how the artist would make them work and look like actual bay windows, rather than three windows side-by-side, but, if that can be done, they could appear in items like the Color Swatches and Unfinished Window Frames. Also, as with the window seat background suggestion, bay windows could be layered over other backgrounds, making them really usable.

I know we have wallpapers from the Table for Two trunk, but I don't think we have any non-Cash Shop wallpapers to go around. suggested them, and I think they'd be really great, too - without windows, and in a number of different patterns, such as striped and floral.

I do admit there are room-themed backgrounds available already - I can think of at least five - but I feel like a lot of those are Cash Shop items, and I don't think any are available through the main shops. (I will do my research in a little while and see if I can verify this one way or another.)
Anyway, there's room for a variety of rooms, as suggested - such as living rooms, kitchens (and dining rooms), bedrooms, sun-rooms, and even closets. (I, personally, would love a closet-themed background. I'm such a clothes-hoarder irl, and it'd be great to display that with my HA.)

I won't post examples, but perhaps some outdoor-themed backgrounds featuring houses, like the would be nice as well.
bookshelves
Bookshelves, as suggested by , could be a great addition to the wardrobe. They would be easily layerable with things like flooring, paint backgrounds, and windows, and they (and items like them) could go a long way toward customizing a room-themed HA.

I also think there is a significant lack of items featuring carpets! We have at least one line of floor tiles, and we have a few (very old) rugs, but I've never seen full stretches of carpet to cover the bottom part of a background (or the blank space left at the bottom of backgrounds like the Color Swatches and similar wearables). I think this is a real shame, too, because they would work and look just like the floor tiles, only they'd be soft, fluffy carpet instead of stone or tile. There could be plain carpets, or even patterned carpets.
Different colored and patterned wooden flooring would be very nice, too, as suggested.

suggested that floor cushions would be a neat item, and that got me thinking that there isn't a whole lot of seating wearables in general. We have the Beach Chairs from the Beach Shack, the Rose Thrones and Comfortable Chairs from Home Appliances, and a whole lot of (unwearable!) sofas, chairs, and lounges also from Home Appliances. There may be more on-site, but I can't think of them, and the ones I listed (that are wearable) are all very, very outdated.
So I suggest, in addition to the above-mentioned floor cushions, things like thrones (please), lounges, etc.

potted plants
We have Esther's Seed Pods, and we have lots of wearable plants available through Spells Galore. But I don't think we have any potted plants, which has suggested. Cacti, succulents, ferns, and general flowers and plants would make for a wide variety of lovely potted plant wearables, and they could have a place in Seedlings.

I love bay windows! It would be great to have more ways to customize the look of an interior on an avatar.
This line could really use a revamp.
I support this. I admit I overly abuse the Boxes of Tiles and the Color Swatches. I try not to touch those rugs because they're so old, also. So I'd love more interior design backgrounds, those window seats would look great and be very versatile and useful. And I agree about the separate carpet being needed. There are loads of wallpaper type backgrounds but no proper flooring to go with them.

A big yes to carpeting. I also still really want to see wooden flooring in various designs and colors.
I love this CW, but I wish there was something more accessible.
The carpetting items we have right now are really outdated and I want something more rectangular. The tiles were a boon but they're hard and tile-y. Floor cushions too.

I'll add wooden flooring to the OP! I originally thought that we had a non-CW line of wooden flooring recolors, but I couldn't find them on SubetaLodge, so I think I imagined that. ; o;
Those really could use a revamp! Especially because (I'm pretty sure) they're the only wearable that actually resembles carpeting. :/ It makes me kinda sad. I've been hoping for carpet for, like, a year+ now.
Also, I agree with everyone who's mentioned the need for more interior design items! I love it, and it'd be great to have more versatile options when layering things in the background - like the floor cushions, flooring options in general, window seats, and whatever else.

Also, "indoor" backgrounds are never enough xD We do have some more brand new windows now but I think there's still room for a couple window seats or items like the , which I find adorable but wish there was a version without the decorations and snow background xD Something like... a wooden mountain/vacation house! u
Same goes for house backgrounds, although that's trickier when it comes to perspective... we have a couple bedrooms already, it'd be cool if we also got living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens as official items! That's totally off topic considering the OP's suggestion, but hey, it's all "staying home" at least n_n

Do you mind if I quote a portion of your post and add it to the OP? :) I've edited the title to include general "home" wearable ideas (now that I've figured out how to actually edit the title of a thread), and I'd like to add to the OP as well. We really do not have a lot of indoor backgrounds (other than plain paint and/or windows)!

I would like everything said here. I love bay windows and I would love some legit carpet. Agreeing, the rugs need a major overhaul. When I first started playing I used them, but I don't think I could incorporate them now.

I'm surprised that we don't already have carpeting tbh.
I know the layerable background and foreground home items are kind of new, but we're also just really lacking backgrounds like the one you're using.
Yes more backgrounds like that would be lovely and maybe have the option to have just the seat (so you can layer with other things) or both... transformable really. And yes more carpets, flooring tiles, different wallpapers (without windows) shelves, book cases and stuff you can add to make your own backgrounds unique and how you like. So a big thumbs up for this suggestion thread!
I'd love if there was a bay window type thing with a semi-transparent window portion, so you could leave it blank, or layer other backgrounds under it.
I don't want to bother everyone by pinging those who've posted here, but I just spent a while updating the OP to include more suggestions. We definitely need more floors. We have all these walls but no floors to go with them. We got those really nice window frames recently but we have nothing to fill the empty space under the window so you just end up with a frame placed awkwardly over some scenery. I thought it was very silly to make more walls but no new floors to go with them.

With the newer + + recolors and only those ugly tile floors to fill in the ground, we could seriously use things like wood floors and carpeting.
