I've noticed that the rewards from completing Battle Quests seems to be the same items over and over: Radioactive Snowball, Telenine Sword, Hikei Grooming Shield, Forest Shield, etc. Personally, the reason why I do those instead of other (more lucrative) money-makers is for the eventual achievement.
Other quests either draw from much larger item prize pools &/or give exclusive prizes. Can the Battle Quest be changed to give more battle items &/or Battle Quest-exclusive items?
[edit]
The sp and EXP prizes probably need revamping as well. Hell, the battle quests overall, since it only seems to be worth it to high-tier battle pets. What about the people trying to train via the battle quests &/or get weapons worth using?
Not that I'm against a prize pool update, but the experience is the primary reward for battle quests and the main reason people do them. I don't think it's reasonable to expect the item and sP rewards to be on par with other quests, because that's just not what battle quests are about.

I do them for xp and tokens , the item prizes are occasionally worthwhile but they are neither a dealmaker or a dealbreaker.
Yup, battle quests are there to get experience for your pet. And I think the prize pool is fine anyway, especially since Maleria asks for weapons now. It's the only thing keeping their prices in check.
I'd rather the Battle Quests not give out weapons at all, honestly. Maybe pylonics or potions, though, or shards. But I have no problem with them as they are now. If nothing else, the weapons can be fragmenter fodder.
The weapons that are at least at the higher half of the normal rarity do sell for a decent amount thanks to Maleria quests. Not to mention that the junk can make some nice Recycle Beast fodder. The main reward is EXP and there isn't any risk at all when it comes to fighting challengers, so I feel the item pool is fine.

I frag all that stuff, it's my daily crystal income. Like everyone here though, I do it for the real reward: free stats. That is, if/when the stat cap will be dealt with.
Weren't BQs getting a revamp anyway?
I hope they skip out on the junk altogether. I do them when I need EXP, not when I want sporks.
If the weapons were dropped out of this or increased in value, then Maleria should ask for Minions instead or in addition. Instead of arming herself for war against Shinwa, she can be making drones or using them in cruel rituals to augment her magic.
EXP is easier to get if your pets are higher level, and the easiest way to gain stats otherwise is to train, which takes time. To balance out the favoritism this was giving the biggest pets, the sP and the item reward were added to the mix. Battle Points were then added, but when they were at the same drop rate as when during normal challenge, this made them too cheap in the minds of the old guard and the Battle Admins of the time. I think it'd be too bad if smaller pets/newer players weren't able to get the reward of the item, so I'm not in favor of removing weapons. But if they get tweaked for value, not much higher than they are now.
After you get high enough you hit the cap and can't use the EXP anyway. Getting useless weapons isn't helping the small guy get ahead.
I agree that battle quests should not give out prizes similar to shop quests, but it would be nicer for low level pets to have a chance to get higher level weapons from battles.
I understand the draw to getting EXP past the 10th victory, but it's sort of cyclical without a real reward:
As for Maleria, I get maybe one, two quests a day where she asks for things that are in the Battle Quest reward pool. The rest I end up paying for.
I think it's important to remember that battle quests are part of a larger site feature. They function as another form of training for your pets, letting you take part in more challenging battles, which is kind of a reward by itself. That also means you'll be earning more 5th win loot from challengers, which can be extremely rare and valuable at higher tiers if you're looking for something to tangible to sell.
You can also look at the experience you earn as a (personal) stat booster, and stat boosters can be very pricey. You won't actually have the extra sP coming into your account, but it's still a huge reward if you're into battling. It's essentially saving you millions of sP a day on boosters.
If you're just looking at battle quests on their own, then you're right, there's not much of a reward. But if you're into battling, they're definitely worthwhile.

"Real reward"? What would that be? Clothes? ๐
The real reward is the EXP.
What do you mean "Without a real reward" ?
What would you consider a reward? As a battler, the ultimate reason why I do them is simply for the EXP. If you are not pleased with the items reward; throw them in the DC, delete them, frag them or give them to Maleria. I don't see the big deal.
I also want to point out that prizes are based on the challenger difficulty I think. So if you can only beat medium/easy opponents, you're getting those same lower rarity items. As you can beat higher ones there is a greater variety in the battle weapons and the higher rarity weapons are worth a decent amount due to Maleria Quests.
You can even get r99 items (including potions) from Prodigy.
is right. Easy opponents only give out mundanes (or really common, I forget which is lower), medium opponents give out mundane or really common, hards give out mundane, really common, or common, etc. So every item that Maleria asks for can potentially be given out by BQs.
Personally I love the weapons BQs give out. Probably about 90% of my Recycle Points are from recycling battle quest rewards.
So basically what I'm hearing from everyone is that it's worth it if your battle pet can take out the highest tier battle opponents.
My pet is nowhere near able to take out those and it's far too expensive for me to train by paying. Training via EXP is very slow grinding and Battle Quests aren't for me because I'm not in the high-tier battle pet niche.
That's a rather alienating quest, if that's the case, and a even stronger argument to revamp the quests so that everyone can get something, not just the strongest battle pets.
The goal of battle quests is not for people to get items to sell for a profit. You can do every other quest on the site to get items to sell but yes.
If you want to benefit from BQ, train your pet. That's the point of them.
What you're telling is that battle quests are not your cup of tea, yet you get something far more valuable than items with EXP as a reward.
I... what? It's too expensive to train? One of my pets is 28 levels below your highest, and it costs me just under 13k to train him. 13k is not expensive by any stretch of the word. if you're trying to train a mid-level pet through exp alone because you can't find ~20k for a visit to the training center.. well. you're gonna have a bad time.
