You can't unless you're a zombie, unfortunately (or during Survival, depending on how they do it next year). You can take it to the Alchemist with other ingredients to make a wearable background, but only zombies have access.

if you really want to use it, you can transform into a zombie for a few days drinking one of these vials: when you're on stage 3 (if i remember correctly), you'll have full access to the alchemist and all the other zombie stuff. it also infects you human avatar, but it goes away after something around a week c:

or you can just give the ingredients to a zombie user so they can use it for you.

pretty much what you can do being a zombie is going to the alchemist, buy the newest stuff from the zombie den (list here), and getting some avatar base edits. unless i'm missing something, that's pretty much everything you get x)

And it lasts for a week and everything goes back to normal?

i don't remember how much time it last exactly, but it should 2 weeks at most. and then yes, you avatar goes back as you have it now c:
