Just saw it last night. I LOVED it! Just curious what everyone else thinks. My favorite part of the movie was with Quicksilver in the kitchen at the Pentagon. Evan Peters was freaking awesome! And the sentinels. They were terrifying! Not the sentinels from the cartoon, that's for sure! And the end with Jean and Scott. That was so awesome.
Backstory: It was 8 years ago when the Last Stand came out and I swore I'd never watch another X Men movie again because of how bad it was. My sisters and I hated the Last Stand so much, we pretend like it doesn't exist. But a few weeks ago, I saw my sister with a bunch of Deadpool stuff and I asked why he was so popular. She filled me in part of the way and told me to research him more. Well, I fell in love with him (hence my GIF). So I decided to give Origins: Wolverine and X Men: First Class a try. I know the a lot of people hate the Wolverine movie but I really liked it. I liked First Class too, so I was excited to see Days of Future Past but I was worried too because of The Last Stand.
Yay, someone else who liked the first Wolverine movie! XD I haven't read the comics so I admit I liked it because I didn't know how much was wrong with it, lol. But as a movie it was quite alright. The second Wolverine movie was even better.
I really loved First Class, it's my favourite X-Men movie, so I looked forward to Days of Future Past. I think there was a bit more action in this one, but thankfully not too much... James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are amazing choices for young Xavier and Magneto. Truth be told, I would've enjoyed a version where Bishop or Kitty would've gone back in time, but I suppose Wolverine was an alright choice as well - he didn't steal the show as I feared he would. Oh and the battle(s) at the end were so emotional ahhh. ;__;
In other news, I just started reading the X-Men comics today. I'm tired of not knowing canon things. ;P
I enjoyed the first Wolverine, but I knew there was a lot of things wrong with it. I was bothered by what they did to Deadpool. They need to get on a Deadpool movie like now. I wasn't too sure about the second Wolverine movie but maybe I'll check it out.
I really enjoyed First Class. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are the best choices for younger Charles and Eric. I still love Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as them too. And they have the best bromance ever. Ellen Page is amazing as Kitty. The battle at the White House. That was crazy.
I'm currently reading a Deadpool book with a bunch of different comics in them. I want to start reading the comics too but I don't know where to start. I know a lot about individual members of the team. I almost busted out laughing when Peter said to Eric, "My mom used to know a guy who could control metal."
I'm just freaking out about the Apocalypse teaser at the end. SERIOUS FREAKING. And they've been teasing Thanos in other Marvel movies, so I'm just.... EEEP! waves hands about in excitement I'm glad they thought to bring Phoenix back. Killing her off just froze the story - I want to see her merge with the universe, not get stabbed, that was so unsatisfactory for my favorite character - and I'm so happy to see her again.
HERE is my basic review of the movie (though I may go into more detail in future blog posts).
Basically I loved the movie so muchXD
I actually liked X3. Not a perfect movie, but I enjoyed it.
I liked the first Wolverine movie too. They messed Deadpool up at the end but there was a lot of good stuff too. Wolverine kicking ass for one.
I had to look up the Apocalypse person to understand what the hell the Post Credits scene meant. But now that I do know: it's going to be awesome =D
Edit: Also want to add that I can't wait to see Evan Peters as Quicksilver in the sequel!
I still need to see the Apocalypse teaser. My sisters were leaving the theater so I followed them. Maybe it's on youtube by now. I think I'm going to see if I can find the comic book. I love the Phoenix. That would be so awesome to bring her back. As long as she doesn't kill half the team XD.
I hated X3 with a passion. But I respect you liked it. To each their own. I did really enjoy the first Wolverine movie even though they messed up Deadpool. When they make the Deadpool movie, they are going to give him a reboot.
I only know bits and pieces about Apocalypse, so I'm going to read up on him and maybe see if I can find the comic books. I'm excited to see Evan Peters back (he is brilliant! I love him in American Horror Story). They need to bring Wanda aka Scarlet Witch because she's his other half. I'm also super excited about Gambit finally appearing. He is my favorite X-Men.
I would love for Ryan Reynolds to return as Deadpool.
Quicksilver has a bunch of legal hoops to jump through to be able to be used for a movie. I think a future X-Men movie can use her but I'm not sure. Would need to re-checkXD
I would too. He really wants to come back too. And I love Ryan Reynolds.
That's a good point. Both characters are really awesome.
I also totally freaked out when I saw Jean. I just flailed even more when I saw Scott too. I'm glad they kind of erased Jean's death to be honest .. I also really loved young!Charles (James McAvoy, you go boy). Overall, it was really good. And Erik and Charles bromance thing, can't get enough.
And dear lord, so glad I stayed after the generic bla bla. APOCALYPSE DUN DUN DUN!
Ryan Reynolds to return as Deadpool
Where do I sign ?!
The kitchen scene is my favorite scene of the movie. It was just brilliant.
I did too. I heard Jean and Scott were supposed to be in it, I just didn't know when. I'm so happy they erased Jean and Scott's deaths. And I love the bromance too.
And right behind me. I love both Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds.
I was bummed because in my opinion, it was a bit different from the previous X-Men. I was confused at some point, but I quickly catched up.
I wonder what will happen next now that everyone is alive? I'm not sure but the other character that we've seen with Kitty and Bobby (Warpath, Bishop, etc..) are they going to return since they kind of appeared in the future? I wonder. I loved Warpath and Blink tho.
I'm glad he wants to come back. I want to see more of him as the character. He just seems to have the right attitude for the character.
Here's hoping =D
I was really happy they changed it. I really hated X3, so the fact they made it so it didn't really happen (which is an inside joke I have with my sisters already so I was fine with it). I was confused about the timeline too but after thinking about, I caught up. I am wondering how Wolverine is going to get his adamantium now that is changed his future.
I did wonder about a lot of the characters. I would love to see Bobby and Kitty together rather than Bobby and Rouge. Rouge belongs with Gambit. And they did make a super cute couple. Warpath and Blink were awesome too.
I loved that scene in the kitchen too...so hilarious xD
I was trying not to laugh too hard because I would have snorted LOL.
He makes the perfect Deadpool. Apparently Ryan even has a Deadpool tattoo.
I hated it too, but I loved First Class. And yeah! But we see Striker at the end, when they take Logan out of the water .. so it might still happen.
Ahhh yeah! I'm broken because I'm used to see Bobby and Malicia together :( But I know that she belongs with Gambit .. I have no idea what will happen to them, but I wish they'd bring Warparh and Blink back.
First Class was really good. That wasn't Striker. It was Mystique. Didn't you see her eyes change to yellow? But anything is possible.
I understand. I just remember her and Gambit being so cute together back in the 1990s cartoon. I was really young and even at the time I thought they made an adorable couple XD.
I really liked Blink's powers. I thought it was Wanda for a while because I didn't know what her real powers were. I had to read up on her to know what her powers were. Warpath is really cool too.
OH! Oh true true. I might have been distracted at the end, my mistake. Then, where is Striker? n.n
My friend ship Bobby and Malicia together, but she has no idea about comics .. so she can't get my point. But anyway.
They make an awesome team honestly. Warpath made me think of a dude in my english class, cannot unsee.
That is a good question. I have no idea.
Everyone has their own opinions. People want to see Jean and Logan together even though she belongs with Scott. There are so many comics out there, it's hard to keep up.
They really did make an awesome team. That's so funny. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Speaking of English class, I have to take a Lit class for my degree and I found my college offers a Graphic Novel course. I looked into it and at the end of the class, you have to write your own. Ever since I was little, I had an idea for my own X-Men, so if I can find when the class is offered, I would so use the idea (if allowed. Copy right issues and all that).
I lost my comics when I was younger, didn't bother to buy them (and some of them where quite old and rare...) I'll just end up getting a Marvel and DC encyclopedia.
I don't really ship anything in X-Men, I focus on the battle (Charles and Erik bromance is something else okay).
We used to have a comic class thing at my college, but they are not offering it next semester .. I hope they didn't take it out :(
