I remember there being no categories but rather a hunt and find thing then they added in the layers after loads of clothes were made available to wear

I remember that many clothes items were supposed to be wearable, but they weren't ready for the system at the time they were created so you had to hold onto them for awhile before you could put them into your wardrobe.
