I've noticed that I can still see the forums posts of users who have blocked me. My question is can people who I've blocked see my created forum topics?
Blocking is a one way thing, it only affects what you see.
Choosing to block a person doesn't prevent them from seeing anything.
I can't view the profiles of people who have blocked me though. I would hope that if I choose to block someone, it would make them not able to see what I post (atleast thread wise) because I don't want them knowing what I do on this site. I know there is a list of what all blocking does, but I can't find it. It took me ten minutes to find out how to block someone on here by searching google >.>
If someone has blocked you, they cannot see your forum posts. They might still be able to see thread titles, but that is a glitch that happened with the new forums and I don't know if it's intended to be fixed or what. But the thread doesn't work for them.
If you block them, they can still see all of your posts.
That's what I figured. I think it defeats the purpose of blocking a little bit, but what can you do? :p
Thank you. Do you happen to know where I can find the list of the blocking features still?
Well the logic behind it was I guess that if I were to block you, for example and then I started a plot related thread or something similarly important, you wouldn't be able to see it and that's kind of an issue :x (At least that's what I've heard)
There's a list in the site rules but it's out of date since it says that they wouldn't be able to see your forum posts, I'm honestly not sure if anything else on there is wrong or not :x
in smail is where the block n' friends lists are.

Though I think that's warranted. It'd teach people
Thanks for the link.
I found it eventually. Thank you though!
True, but I mean blocking people for stupid reasons is one thing, you can always unblock them to see the thread. But if someone blocks you for a stupid reason and then you can't see the thread, well then you're just shit outta luck unless they decide to unblock you :/ I feel you on the not harassing others though.
Hm, then I guess it's more like... don't piss people off, I guess? Idk. People get butthurt on this site, imo.
i thought that when you block someone, or get blocked by someone all interaction ends between the 2 people. including seeing one another's forum posts. a friend of mine in real life is also playing here, and they got blocked by some chick. he showed me this sometime last year, as a curiosity, lol. i believe the chick doesn't even appear in subeta search [when searching for her user name] sadly my friend is banned from the forums, so i wouldnt know how this block feature works on the forum..
Well yeah, once you've blocked someone it's against the rules to attempt to contact them (the same goes for once you've been blocked as well). But if you've been blocked you can still see their forum posts.
Nope, blocking is one-way unless the other person also blocks. Blocking is "I can't stand this person" and not "this person can't stand me". A return-block is not required by Subeta. I think it's often a good idea to do this, even if you're personally not offended.
It is against the rules to interact with someone who has blocked you, even if you haven't blocked them and can see their posts. If you try to ping them, you will get an error message but you will not be warned. It is against the rules to relay messages through other people who are in the same thread. So not "all interactions" are affected by the block. It is much safer account-wise to be really really careful whenever you see their username, or to block them in return.
Sometimes blocking can be annoying during site events. One person blocked me a looong time ago for a dumb reason and then they posted behind me in those "Give a dance/flower/kiss to the person above you" things so then I would miss out...

oh thank you for the explanation. that was quite helpful :) i have never been blocked -or i dont recall it. I blocked someone sometime last year, but just a few days back i unblocked them. this is why i am not quite sure how this works. [plus i know the rules concerning blocking people have been slightly changed over time]
