How on earth do I raise intelligence levels on my pets?? I figured reading books would do it, but no such luck. Any advice? Much appreciated :)

Have you tried clicking on "Books read"? I just looked at your pets, and it looks like Helious91 has read 11 books and has 11 intelligence?

Every book should give you +1 intelligence. There's a few out there that also raise it by a few points but there's not that many. There's also intelligence boosters such as:

Which can give you +1-3 intel points at random. (or any other elemental tome like it) can grant you 1-3 points of intel (along with 1-3 in other stats) +1 intel 0-1 intel (this is more of a gamble but you CAN read it to your pet once then USE it (if you get another) to keep trying for another point of intel. Again another book you can read once and then use to gain +1 intel.

ONE book = ONE intelligent point.

And I believe its ONE alchemy point for every 16 books read. Alchemy points are used for scroll making, or something like that.

I believe they double as weapons, but I'm not much on battling, so I'm not entirely sure how they work.

make scrolls to sell to people who battle with their pet(s), or to give your pet an edge in battle by allowing her to cast a spell in addition to tossing a potion, a shard, and wielding two weapons..

You can also feed your pet a for one point of Int.

Playing Mystic Spindles will earn you points to buy Int for your pet. This is best used early on because the cost of one point of Int is based on how much Int your pet already has. For example, my pet with 1,040 Int costs 8,849 pts, but my pet with 110 Int only costs 944 pts.

Another source for Int is to get your pet a job. Every day when you collect its paycheck, you have a small chance of raising stats, including Int.
