One of the gold account benefits is getting 5 more pet slots, right? So if I get a gold account for a short while and get more than 5 total pets, what happens to the pets when the gold account expires?

Same with purchased slots - they never disappear, but you have to have an active gold account to adopt pets past the default, basic-account, limit. You'll never just "lose" a pet once it's on your account.

Wait, the purchasable slots only work when a gold account is active? What's the point of them then - to get more than 10 pets?

If you just want the extra pets, there's a 1-week medal you can get that should be reasonably cheaper than the 1-month.

No, I meant, if you purchase extra pet slots with CSC, do they work regardless of having a GA?

They'll work in the sense that, when the GA expires, the pets stay on the account, but it's like any other extra slot - you can only adopt a pet to fill it when the GA is active. Does that make sense? I should be sleeping, my brain is all fuzzy, and I'm not sure I'm explaining things as well as I could be >.>;

Must be a different time zone, sorry :) It's just I don't see much point to the extra pet slots if you need a GA anyway, unless someone wants more than 10 pets.

No matter how many slots you have purchased with CSCs or gotten via loyalty totems, when you have an extra slot and you go to create the pet, each empty slot is recognized as part of the 10 total you get with a GA.

Take my slots for example... I have 33 pet slots available in total. 32 are taken and I have one empty. While 20 of those were purchased/gifted and 3 are from totems, the system sees it as 23 "special" slots filled but only 9 out of the 10 from my GA.

Pretty sure there is a logical, code-based reason why it has to be that way. (I don't actually know the reason though.)

Anyway, did any of that make sense? Or did I just confuse the matter? I don't know. 😅

The point really is to have more than 10 pets. I have 26 pets altogether and some people have over 30. There is a hard limit but I've lost count of it because the hard limit depends on multiple things (how old the account is because of pet slots given via Loyalty Boxes, free pet slots that have been given on special occasions, the limit being raised at one point, etc). I know it's over 30 now, providing you buy the pet slots after 10 and have an account several years old.

It did confuse me a bit, but 5 are quite enough for me for now. The thing about pets disappearing worried me most - if I get any clever ideas for a few more pets I can always get a GA for a week and keep them.

Unless YOU "phsiycally" abandon your pets on here, there's no way they can disappear from your account. YOU have to be the one to either click abandon which puts them int he pound, or send said pet to a friend. There's no way anyone but YOU can get rid of a pet on YOUR account.

Here maybe this can help Non GA= 5 slots. These you can pound or transfer and re-adopt as often as you like. GA= 10 slots. THis is 5 added slots to the basic non GA. As long as your GA is going you may pound transfer and re-adopt. Upon the GA expiring if you get rid of a pet you may not refill that slot until you use another GA. GA+ buying slots= up to 30 pets. You may buy up to 20 extra pet slots at 2k csc each ($20usd) making it 30 pets. 10 from GA and 20 bought slots= 30. Again GA needs to be active to refill slots should you get rid of a pet.

Anything above 30 slots will be strictly totems from loyalty boxes(awarded upon 2nd year here and every year thereafter) or site events (rarely). These too are subject to an active GA to fill.

So in short GA slots are "active" as long as a GA is in use. Once the GA runs out think of them as an on hold status and just don't disown/ give pets away unless you are fine with not using these on hold slots.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
