Hi, can someone explain why people make multiple shops on Subeta? Is there some limit on how many items/item types can be in one shop? Or is it just so people can categorize stuff?

I personally have 2 - one for regular items from vends/quests and one for items over 1m sP...mainly so I can see if someone randomly deflates them to like 50k, I don't get stung with the autoprice xD

I've noticed a lot of people will use one shop for items over 1 mil and subq and cash stuff, sometimes they have one just for event stuff, and usually a "junk" shop of vended stuff

You could also do more specific categorys like 'Books' and 'Plushies'. So when someone is looking for collectable items they might look through your shop and f. e. buy 30 Plushies because they need them for their collection. It's the easiest in a shop that only sells one kind of items (and is also still the cheapest with it).

My main shop is where I stock and autoprice less valuable items.

My second shop is for pricier stuff, especially high and special rarities. I keep those separate so I can manually price them. It's easier when there are only a handful of items to check, and it keeps me from taking a heavy loss if someone severely undercuts.

So there's nothing technical to prevent me selling everything in one shop? Purely organizational?

You can definitely sell everything in one shop, if you like, there's nothing requiring you to have more than one.

I haven't had an opportunity to try the autopricer yet, hadn't thought of the price undercutting thing. Thanks for the tip!

One reason I use is because there is a shop profit limit of 2,147,483,647 sP (after that, your items will still sell just fine but it stops keeping count of the profits). I wanted to keep track continually of everything I've made ever so I just made a new shop every time I hit the limit. I also have several galleries and one shop where I sell things over 1 mill sP. :P

That's a weird number for a limit to be...any particular reason?

It's a computer thing. :P

Real explanation (from online research because I had to re-Google it, I forgot):

The number 2,147,483,647 is also the maximum value for a 32-bit signed integer in computing.

yup, purely personal preference! Though I've noticed that huge shops sometimes have a hard time loading. :)

For me, it's organizational. I use to do foods in one, all other items in another, and then more expensive/SUB/Tokens/etc in another. Right now, I have one massive one (gallery achievement) and a couple others for various organizational sorting purposes. But you could definitely just have one and call it good!

It has been mentioned by that there may eventually be a hard item limit for shops. I think I also read somewhere that the autopricer may also switch to being once per shop per day, opposed to only once per day (too lazy to look up the source).

Seems like more bother to figure out which items to put where. I mean, besides beanbags and plushies you can't even find it with a search. On that note, does someone know some shortcut for the item vault or shops to filter by category if I haven't categorized? Like find all the books/food/clothes?

I have the fifth biggest shop on site and it breaks autopricing. People have a hard time Search-ing it, doing this tends to crash Subeta or their browser. They have to look for something by alpha if they want to buy more than one, or they have to repeatedly Refresh on Shop Search for it and then tab+buyclick.

I don't have categories in my shop, because it's a bother to sort things that way. Even though my shop is huge and can be treated like a shopping trip to the mall, people who visit my shop are not browsing: they're after certain things.

We've been told that shops are going to have to be much smaller, "small" in the case of this new rule being number of unique items. You can find the discussion on this under Brainstorming subforum of Suggestions.

I have a separate shop, it's where I show and sell my (so far just one) CW. That way I don't mistake it for some rare Battle Loot win or Drills prize I may have scored but no longer need.

Of the six commands on the search box on the first page of your shop, one of them allows you to search by Subeta-defined categories (not any of your own categories at all) The three categories you have mentioned are listed. This is imperfect because there are some items that are two kinds of things, and it may not find them. Also, it's not very good at finding Special items or one-time items or items that have no purpose that aren't any of the listed categories.

I have a (purely seasonal) shop where I sell things you might take with you for a day at the beach, so as you might imagine, I only autoprice my main shop... if I knew people were coming to buy, it might inspire me to stalk the Beach Shack/other appropriate shops more often, so I just settle for whatever vending can give me... :)

I have one shop that I use to actually sell things and another shop/gallery where I just store things while I work on the hoarding achievement or whatever. Once I get that, I'll probably go to having only one shop.
