I have seen MANY artwork in posts that are just pure breathtaking. ....and some that are just, well, just... just. What I was thinking was adding a like, unlike feature for the artwork in posts. Now I know that many people have revolving artwork in their posts, like I do, but the concept/idea still applies. (which I have no idea what happened to my artwork...) So the adding of like/unlike (or just not clicking the "heart" feature if you do not like the artwork)... This is just an idea, mind you, so opinions and suggestions are welcome!! :D

[Center]well, it's been a slice. I'm outta here. I'm done here and I need to move on to other things. I've grown weary of forum bullies and just don't have the energy for them anymore. I am praying for my friends here, as well as the bullies... everyone needs prayer...

There is already "Like HA" and "Like Post" on each post, adding a "Like Art" would be a little crowded (even more so if a dislike button was added, which could be cruel on its own)

If you like the art someone has, it seems reasonable to comment the person.

great point. However, on the cruel part, I see where you're going on that, but it would be anonymous like the hearts on avatar ... on posts, I always hearted posts if I need to keep track of them, say I posted there about inquiring about requested artwork or cw(s), such things as this... however, never on the "love this post" hearting. Which I'm sure others do this, which I'm not aware of.... nor need to be. :D anyhoo, your point is valid. One can always comment someone and say "hey, your artwork in your post is just beautiful!" Or "hey, your artwork in your post just stinks and is downright insulting to my eyeballs..." which would be completely uncalled for, but human behavior is never measurable nor is it defined. But one with a conscience and a respect of other people' feelings, they wouldn't say such things. You know that saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" or my favorite " If it aint broke, don't fix it!" LOL

ok I'm rambling. In a condensed reply, I agree with your point, and it makes sense. :D

The post likes feature as it is now is a bit pointless so I wouldn't support more options to "heart" other things.

I really don't think this is necessary. I already thought the post likes were pointless, to be honest. If you really like someone's art, you can comment them, like was already mentioned. We absolutely do not need a dislike button for anything on site.

Uh...what? I don't see how making the dislike anonymous would be any less "cruel". If anything, I see it as being even more cruel, because you're not being specific. You're leaving it up to the person to somehow read your mind and guess what exactly you don't like about their art or forumset.

In any case...my apologies, but without any useful feedback or constructive criticism to go along with the like or dislike (especially with the dislike...how will an artist or player know what to change or work on if you don't give specifics?) I don't see this as being a useful function. I don't see the like buttons for posts and HAs as being useful either, though, so take this opinion as you will.

When I do use images with my forumText, it's usually just random gifs and things I found on the internet. I would feel weird if I started getting likes on my account for someone else's gif or whatever. :P

But yeah, if you like someone's artwork that much then just comment them. I'm sure that would mean more to them than an anonymous +1 anyway.

Tbh I think we have way too many "likes" already as it is...

Also, as I'm not an artist myself, I'd feel like about the random gifs. I mean, even if the HA/character portrayed might be mine, I wouldn't feel right getting "likes" for something I didn't create (in that sense, both HAs and posts are our "creations")... :/

So I'd say if you really like the art, comment the artist (inquire who is, if the user doesn't have it clearly stated!) and let them know. I'm sure they would be really happy to hear it c: Totally worth to go past the anonymous thing to potentially make someone's day!

I don't support this, and it isn't because we already have so many "likes" already - which I don't actually mind. It's more that I'd feel really weird and kind of like I'm stealing if I got likes for something someone else drew.

It's one thing for someone to comment me, tell me they like the art I'm using on x page, because then I can just send them in the direction of the artist. But you can't do that with likes. You can put a credit in your signature, but it'd still feel really awkward to me.
