So today was the second day of my family's garage sale, part of our citywide garage sale weekend. Yesterday and today, we did absolutely amazing. we decided to totally clean house and get rid of anything we didn't want or use, cleaned out our storage room, closets, everything. We've never had a sale this big before, and honestly, I don't know where it all came from, lol. On Thursday, I had maybe 10 minutes where no one was in the garage and today was about the same. I'm pretty much in charge of the sale, because my parents are older and didn't really want to do it, so because I'm doing everything and most of the stuff is mine anyways, I get 1/2 of the profit instead of 1/3. And let me tell you, half of the profit is beautiful already and we still have one more day! I think I made enough to get a new used computer, which is what I really need because my old one is getting so slow. I'll take it in to the shop and see if he can speed it up/fix it, but if he can't I'll buy something else and trade that one in. I am so used to being broke all the time and existing off of food stamps and govt healt care that I guess I'm still in shock over the money, lol. Still freaking out at how much I sold. I'm kind of a hoarder and I get kind of attached to things, so seeing some things go was really hard. But I feel so much lighter now, especially when I look at our storage room and see it half empty. It's wonderful.
So any garage sale stories? Either when you had your own or of something you found at one?
When I was younger, I went to my a garage sale of a family of one of the girls I hung out with. I ended up finding one of my own stuffed toys that I had lost there. xD I think I had to buy it back from them, and I still have it now.
My mom made me two blankets when I was really young, and one got left at a friends, I later found out it was sold in a garage sale. But I love driving around with my mom looking for garage sails!
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
I love yard sales~
I am a trinket hoarder, so I always come back from one with something. Most of the time I end up re-selling it at my own garage sale, but there have been things I've kept for years. They're quite fun, and if you know what you're looking for you can save a ton of money when purchasing certain things from other people rather than for full price at the store when it doesn't have to be in a perfectly new condition.
I got a beautiful jewelry/music box at a yard sale earlier this year. <3 looking at the sales cause can usually get good things at good prices.
We had a church rummage sale right after I moved here and I got a snowcone maker for 5$ that works beautifully =D Though I usually go for the books/movies....you got any books/movies for sale ?
My family needs to have a garage sale! Our house is full to the brim of stuff we've collected since we've had a few deaths and a downsizing in the family. My mother's mom has moved into an old folks' home and the stuff my mom couldn't bear to part are now in our house, hehe! Unfortunately, a lot of the stuff we'd have to sell would not be mine, but I'm never opposed to getting rid of stuff!

I'll do a garage sale when stop raining
I'm selling weird things that I don't even know what it is for :x

I love finding odd dvds at yard sales. With it getting warmer outside hopefully we will start having more around.
I went for a drive with my little brother today after his soccer game and I went into a town where there was literally 5-8 yard sales on this one long road and two more on another road. I'm all for yard sales but people were basically blocking this road with their cars. /: Don't know if it was like national yard sale day today or what... xD I've never had any yard sales myself, but I feel like my family should get rid of some crap.
Dunno what that is but it looks cute. xD
