I've been wanting to make a art shop but I was wondering if traditional art is even popular? I see a lot of digital stuff and very rarely any traditional.. so my question is.. Is there a good amount of users that like traditional? Or would pay for/want some? ;n;

Generally I would say it isn't that popular because people are more interested in digital! What kind of traditional do you mean though? Drawing/painting?
The best thing to do is head over and hold an auction to see what people would be willing to pay :)
I love traditional art. Sketches, paintings, drawings, all on paper mediums. The only issue I really see with this is... how can you get it on to the computer and still keep the quality. And I think that's why a lot of the art around here is digital.
Mostly drawing c:
I think I'll try that sometime but I'd want to do some freebies first! c:
I do as well! c: But I do see what you're getting at.. I didn't even think about that.. ^^'

I know for my AP art class, we had to take pictures of all our art to submit. You just need a really good camera and really good lighting. It's just really tedious. >.<
What - congratulations on the name change! Really pretty :)
I see! Good luck on your freebies and with your art shop if you open one in the future! :)
Have you considered investing in a tablet?
Thank you! ^^
And I have but I've never been really good with digital art so I've been putting it off... :x

@ Shimmer
I draw traditionally, photo it on my phone, text it to my email, make it look digital in photoshop or gimp (gimp is free download), and THEN sell it.
Would that work for you? I suck at drawing things digitally too, so I just fish the lines up out of the photograph and go from there.
I've got GIMP and PS already c: I's be fine doing it that way. But it would just take forever xD

I personally love traditional but it's rare people are willing/able/take the time to clean up the image. For instance would you be happy to pay for something as covered in artifacts as THIS (rough sketch by me) or would you prefer something cleaner like THIS (by c-bedford). SKILL aside (Bedford is amazing after all ;w; )
I love traditional work, and a lot of people are willing to pay for something they can physically hold if the artist can ship, but if the quality of the scan/photo is poor and they want it for the computer...? why bother. I find most of the traditional work offered on Subeta ends up being good technically, then the scan is rough as hell and makes the image effectively worthless (to the buyer, not in terms of work put into it).
So while I think you could sell traditional work in theory, I wouldn't bother unless you can guarantee a high quality scan, possibly digitally cleaned/enhanced (you might be able to find a digital artist who will help with the cleaning process for a percentage of the commission).
Not really. Open it in photoshop, up the contrast & brightness until the background is , save it, move it to GIMP, remove the white with the add transparency tool, export it, open it in photoshop, duplicate the layer, blur the top one, do shift+j and shift+e until the lines aren't scraggly anymore.
Bam, ready for color. 5 min tops.
I'd pay for both images to be honest xD The second one is prettier but the first has a quick sketch feel to it and I like that more xD
I'm not really sure if my scanner scans the image in good quality.. :( So I probably would be able to guarantee a good quality pic.. ^^'
And I'm not sure if my mother would let me ship stuff to others honestly.. o_o'
Oh wow o_o I think I'll give that a shot then! xD

Good luck! c:
Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure it will work out all right.
Haha, well thank you XD but I think most people would prefer an image without the scanner shadows (those bars of shadow up and down the page are from when I scan with the scanner slightly off the page due to binding on the pad, or if it's the first scan of the day and it's still 'cold' and they're a pain in the butt, particularly if you want to colour digitally).
Really? I mean the commissioner would still need to pay for the shipping of course P=
