I noticed this happens during certain times of the day. There will be a lot of items in the shop, I'll go to buy something and it'll tell me it's sold out. Back at the main shop, it'll say "There are no items stocked".

What's the point of this? Or why does it happen? I hate it. Especially when I'm questing and I find an item in the main shops, but then have to buy it in the user shops (and it's usually really inflated). Ugh. I need to learn NOT to quest around seven pm, apparently.

If you leave the shop and go right back it will correct itself and everything will be back in the shop. I don't believe refreshing works though. :)

It's not the "restocked 44 years ago" error. There are actually no items in the shop.

Yes, all the shops kind of reset it seems. It'll say "restocked x minutes ago" but it's as though the restock was taking everything out of the shop. Slowly, the shops will fill back up with each restock.

I figured there would be some misunderstandings, because I do also encounter that weird glitch when no items are there and the shop hasn't restocked in 40+ years XD But I didn't feel like editing my original post. :x

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes too. More so on the hour than at any other time, and most often around midnight (Maybe more often, that's just the main time I restock :P)

I think it's just the sites way of trying to keep things at a normal rarity, so there's not 5,000 Blue Washed Jeans or something because no one buys them. Inconvenient, yes, but they have to do it semi-often in order to keep things in check.

Or something. I'm no expert in web site design or economics or anything, so my guess is as good as yours :P

Yeah, the shops reset to empty. It's because the same items just sit in the shop for ages, emptying out the shop helps get new things in until they reset again.

That's what I figured. Doesn't change the fact that I absolutely hate it. Do you know when the do it?

I think around 1 pm and 7 pm I've noticed they usually reset.

It used to be every hour on the hour. Since the new quests have increased demand for items all over the site, and vending has been limited, those few of us who actulally do restocking haven't been able to keep up with demand any other way than increasing the prices for medium and low level items. All y'all could have started restocking too and making yourselves a nice profit, but that's not what happened. Instead, there was a Suggestion that things clog and hang around in shops longer, like what happens in ^&*( Neopets. Something like this was implemented, so now lower and medium rares stick around much longer, and this makes normals and rares even more rare than they are.

This seems to please a lot of users. Me, I am still able to make a nice profit selling the low to medium rares, so I'm not sure what benefit this has.
