does it bother anyone else that the little bow on the front of the mermaid wrap skirts is like… right in the middle of the HA? [preview=sunset mermaid wrap skirt] if it's supposed to be at the front of the skirt, which would make sense, then it should be a little more to the left, under the belly button, as the avatar base is in 3/4 view.
now, maybe it's supposed to be slightly off to the side, maybe it's not supposed to be centered on the skirt, but even then, the placement of the bow is just… really awkward because it looks like they just drew the skirt from a head-on view even though it's not supposed to be. i'm not saying the art is bad, it's really really lovely and i like the skirts a lot, it's just that one little detail that throws me off.
(there are actually a few items on subeta that aren't quite properly aligned with the base's anatomy. i've especially noticed it amongst necklaces; oftentimes they don't look right on female bases because they don't follow the curve of the breasts, they just kind of go straight down the chest as if it were flat, which means they don't line up nicely with many shirts… yeah.)
idk, am i the only one bugged by this? it's just so awkward looking.
[edit] i've also noticed that some apparent perspective issues are not perspective issues at all, but simply overlays not being adjusted properly for the female base; while the overall silhouette of an overlay is changed to accommodate the breasts on the female base, the details within said overlay are usually not. for example: [preview=cream manly buns shirt] as you can see here, the line of the buttons is exactly the same on both the male and female base. it does not curve over the breasts on the female base, it just continues in a straight line as it would on a flat chest. again, not insulting any of the art, just pointing out little things that bug me.
[edit] and as we can see above, the skirts have been fixed! this is super cool of the artist, i wasn't expecting it. so, thanks !
I know what you mean. D: I think there are several other items with positioning like this. I guess it's not a big issue, but it drives me crazy if I try and use the items.
Tbh, I didn't even notice that bow there until you mentioned it. I see why it's a problem but at least it's a bit more subtle than the obvious awkward alignment found in several items. I just try to avoid using them in my wardrobe :c

The 3/4ths angle is such a basic requirement. I'm not sure why it isn't met to begin with as frequently as it is, so how these kinds of overlays then pass muster are beyond me.
The skirts aren't so bad because the bow can be concealed, but not following this standard looks really awful on things like wings.

Oh, I didn't even notice this but now that you've pointed it out it'll probably bother me any time I see one. :P
This seems like it might fit better in Site Feedback to me. I'd just edit the OP to add examples of other wearables.

So that's why those shirts look so odd! To be honest though, I find the dress that you're currently wearing to be much worse than your examples: the dress seems to be pinned to the front of the HA. Why aren't the legs inside the dress?!
well....now it bugs me.... :/ i shall only wear these skirts with something that covers that bow object now
I feel like the skirt's bottom isn't angled enough to be portray the 3/4th's angle either. Or maybe that's just me. ;l
OMG You're totally right. Now I can't unsee it. NOOOOOO. xD
I can't believe no one else seems to have noticed it! I really want to wear the dresses but I just can't make them look good. XD
You know, I felt like there was something off about them that was preventing me from liking them over those rose dresses, but I didn't know what it was until you pointed it out. Kudos to you! Yeah, idk how I'll workwith them now that you pointed it out haha. xD
Haha, thanks I think? I'm not sure I like bringing misery to all the people who love these dresses. XD It would be really nice if they could be fixed but I'm not sure it's possible. Hopefully we'll work out how to hide their oddness! C:
I meant it hehe! :3 Although I probably shouldn't have. xD Maybe there's a lower back item that can wrap around the dress in a way to make it seem like there's some fabric on the avatar's left side and back?
Have a more enthusiastic thank you then! c: Hmm, maybe... I can't think of anything offhand that would match the length, but maybe another skirt behind it would work. I'll have a play around with them once Chrome's wardrobe starts working again! I'm lost without my drawers.
well i mean i think the part of the dress you are seeing is the front (it is a tiered dress) and if you look closely you can see part of the back wrapping around through the translucent layer, so it doesn't bug me at all, i think the dress makes perfect sense.
I still can't see it, but if it works for you that's good! XD
I can't see a back on the new Vesnali dresses either and the mermaid skirt bottoms do face directly forward, now that you guys mention it.
