I'm an Aspie myself and I know that if Subeta's fine mods knew they were supporting an organization that wished at best death and at worst total restructurement of personality (which is what a 'cure' for the autism spectrum WOULD be) on me and people like me they'd do something about it.

It's been said that subeta can't really control what ads show up but god yes I wish they could take away any kind of ads for autism speaks. It's a shit organization and really is pretty much working towards eugenics to 'cure' autism.

I haven't seen anything from Autism Speaks, is it a user run ad or one of banners from an ad place?

I've seen a few prior to being a GA user. Luckily I don't know what that organization is about otherwise I would have a problem because I know someone who has a daughter with autism and my god, she is amazing. You can always buy a GA with SP or USD and not have ads show? Unfortunately, I don't think the team has control over the ads unless they're submitted by a user.

We can request that ads from certain organizations be blocked but it's really easy for them to just submit from another organization name / campaign / etc, so we have sort of immediate control but a week from now it's very likely they'll pop back up :( :( :(

Ugh, it's too bad they can't really be taken down, because yeah, Autism Speaks is pretty offensive and basically a hate group. :/

I'm so glad I haven't seen this yet. I would just get really pissed. I got Autism, and I hate that 'organisation'.

I just saw the ad. It really makes me angry. They hide behind a facade of caring and love when really they're just hate group. I've witnessed members treat their own autistic children like animals and call them "embarrassments to the family name." How the FUCK are you going to say something like that to someone, especially your own children?
