What's the most remarkable thing that's happened to you so far this year? It could be either positive or negative. Maybe you got a pet. Or maybe you got into a new relationship, or maybe you finally got your driver's license? Or, perhaps you were emitted to the hospital, or lost someone special.
Sadly, mine's a negative one. I lost my grandmother. She was 92 and i've never admired a person more. I miss her every day.
What's your most remarkable experience so far this year?
Will sell soul for :')
We found one of my childhood friends' dads.
He was dead on the floor of a hotel halfway across the country. Was missing for about a month. Cause of death forever unknown since they're highly religious and don't believe in autopsies. If it was foul play, they're off scot free.
It really bothers me because I didn't know he was missing, just that he was going to see family on the coast, and then suddenly he's dead? I really liked the guy...
Uhm, well kind of a lot really.
I guess I would say getting my first ticket! And having to go to court. OH BOY! Lol, what a great milestone...
sorry to hear about your grandmother! i lost mine a few years back and even though she was in an awful state, she's someone who i really admired. looking back i wish i could've gotten to know her more than i did.
as for this year, i think the most remarkable thing that happened is that i got in contact with an old friend, and started talking regularly again. it's been really nice to be back in touch with them.
I'm sorry. :c (I hate hearing about people losing loved ones because an "I'm sorry" sounds so... manufactured and heartless.)
I literally walked into the Curves gym that both my mother and I have been active members in for over a decade and got a job offer. I was hired the same day and have been working there, happily, for over three months now.
I've also had my driver's license for over a year. The year mark was March 1st.

Well most recently, I went on a three day trip to another state with my friends. It was my first time flying 'alone' (I was seated apart from them on both flights and a dad was accompanying us during the trip) but considering I managed to get permission from my parents (i.e. my mom), I call that a win!
I've always been nervous travelling alone since I've only ever flown on class trips or family vacations so I felt this was a good experience for me.
Other than that, I did get my driver's license three weeks ago. :)
I'm really sorry to hear that. My great-grandmother just died and she was the same age. I didn't get to see her very often but it's still really sad. Doesn't feel real, still. I couldn't get to the funeral cause I live too far away. ): She was kind of the matriarch of my mom's side of the family.
But uh, to answer the original question, I moved over 2,000 miles by myself with a cat and a rat in a car with two bald tires and one working headlight. It was terrifying but now I live somewhere that doesn't totally suck all the time which is a completely new experience for me, having come from the midwest.
Well...not much has happened this year, really. Except that this weekend, we're having our garage sale and it's going really well so far. I've actually made a nice amount of money and that's novelty for me.
Next week will be awesome because I have tickets to a Celtic Woman concert. I would have had front row seats, but some dumbass put the tickets on sale a day early so all I could get was balcony. But it's Celtic Woman, so I have to go because they're amazing.
I have been sick for two years, so much so that I had to drop out of high school. But this year I went back, and I am on track to graduate! :D And it's technically last year, but both my father and grandfather died, the upside is that my granddads estate will completely pay my way through college. Plus some.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
i bought a car and got a job promotion, those are probably the biggest/most important positive things. also reconnected with a friend i hadn't spoken to in over a year which has been really wonderful.
on a negative note it's been about a year since i had to put my dog to sleep, my best friend's dad died, and my pap died.
I got accepted to a summer program at Rice University! :3
(A super fancy private college)
I don't know, because I met my boyfriend last year. Got new pets last year. I guess it was this one cat, my Mom and I took in for a few weeks in the colder months. He's amazing. I wish my Mom would let me take him to an animal shelter, because he's fixed.
Well, I went to Florida in January (I'm Canadian, so for me that's travelling internationally, which is always exciting). But, aside from that, I could have slept for the last few months and not missed a damned thing.
Iunno, everything big happened to other people. My little sister FINALLY moved into her own place (she's 25, sooo... yeah, it was time XD), and suddenly my mom has a boyfriend? I don't know how I feel about that one, since my folks split last summer. =/
Oh, my fiance and I finally decided on a date for our wedding. But it won't be until December, so I guess this year is the year of wedding-planning (kill me). D=
I broke up with my bf of five years...and I've never felt better. Now I actually have lots of fun and found so many new friends, it's unbelievable...
I went back to school. That's the most positive thing, I think. I'm totally reconnected with my goals and I know I'm right where I need to be right now and all of that feels wonderful.
broke up with someone i shouldn't have dated in the first place and within a week ended up with the person I had feelings for four years ago and they never really went away. (they had feelings for the same amount of time apparently. Just turned me down back then because girlshy. bahahahahahaha)
its pretty great, simplified and cheesy and desperate sounding but this is the happiest ive been in years.
It's all happened this week, because I just got interviewed and offered a new job on short notice. So many phonecalls, paperwork, etc. just to quit old job, leave old house, find new house, move into new house, start new job... plus cancel appointments and all that shit. Just got back from viewings and agreed to rent a place today PHEW. On top of that I failed my first driving test this week lol ;(

Not much so far, but I'm moving to a different country with my partner in two months!
I feel so boring because I can't actually think of anything off of the top of my head... Uhm... I suppose I would have to say running my first red light? I know it doesnt seem like much, but I'm that person who always tries to stop even if I can't and have to go through the yellow. I was so upset with myself for it.
