I often feel frustrated because I can never tell what CWs are private or not. Cant there be some thing in the description that says Private Item or something? I think that would make things a lot easier if they were categorized this way.

It's not something that's official, afaik (I admittedly don't keep up with CWs). The only aspect that could be official is limited batch , but that could apply to non-privates as well + many people may leave their 'privates' open in case they want/need more later.

Private only means that until the creator changes their mind/gives them to others anyways, so I wouldn't like to see any feature to designate them added either. It's an inflationary tactic a good 60%+ of the time.

Private rarely means literally private though. There are "privates" that are actually one-batch, no-sell, and all that, but then there's such a range of definitions like "semi-private," "limited batches," "bribe-only," and don't forget those single-copy "public-privates" that get auctioned. ;)

"Private CW" just means a few thousand CSC lol. .

I feel this would cause a lot of unnecessary shit, and that's the last thing the CW market needs more of. What would this option be doing? It would have to be selected at time of submitting, and then what? The item is tied to your account? Tied to the accounts of users on the batch list? Hardly anyone actually keeps their private CWs private, so most of the time, it'd really just act as an indicator that you're going to have to pay more for something than normal lmao.

I agree with private means expensive. I think the whole private idea is stupid, people who make a private item usually only want to make an item unnecessarily expensive. And adding a "private" tag doesn't make the prize better.

I think, to help in that matter, that the number of batches and number of released batches should be written on the over thingies and on the items page (when you own the items you know). It can't tell if it's private, but at the very least you can know if the creator is thinking on getting only one batch out or many.

Some items get more batches until interest wanes though. How would the information be accurate for things that are initially a batch or two but end up being re-released later?

If you want to know if something is private, ask someone you see wearing it, ask on the released CW thread in the forums... why does this need to be anywhere in the item description? I don't see what the problem is here.

I only have one CW and it's not private, but private doesn't always mean you'll never get it. Sometimes it does but sometimes it might mean you'll be charged something crazy if you're seriously going to buy it. Subeta can't enforce the no selling CW stuff, so it all depends on how much you can spend.
