Hola. I'm Elisse and I was super mad curious to see which pokemon game YOU think is the best for the 3DS or DS. I haven't played pokemon since colosseum on the GC, and with portable gaming devices being a first for me, I have no idea what differs one game from another. So, what Pokemon game for 3DS/DS did you like best and why? Did it have to do with the generation, the legends available, story, side quests, time spent playing, etc.?

Hmm this is tough cause I love all the Pokemon games xD SoulSilver and HeartGold was a nice blast to the past. And you get extra things too :3. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum was alright I wasn't a huge fan of it. Black/White White/Black 2 have really good story lines I believe ^-^ I like how in Black/White 2 it continues from the last two games (story wise). I think it's cool. X and Y are just amazing cause you can change your clothes/hair/eye color within the game which is nice. Petting your Pokemon is just so cute and the story line is alright. I think they should of done better. But Mega forms are really fun to play with. But all of them are good at some point even 4th gen franchise xD

I'd say Soul Silver/Heart Gold or X/Y! Those have been my personal favorite and after the disappointment that Black/White & Black2/White2 were, X and Y were refreshing and really fun! Plus X and Y have some new features that help make the game a bit more personal, like dressing up and pokemon amie (which, if you do enough will give you a few perks during battle with that certain pokemon).

I'll say X/Y are probably your best bet. :3 There are so many things to do in addition to Pokemon training/breeding, such as clothes shopping, making PR videos, and daily activities for items and money. Even Pokemon training has gotten much more diverse and interesting; you can EV train Pokemon with a mini-game now, trade with people around the world so much easier, and capture a great variety of Pokemon from all the generations. Other nice new features are, of course, things like Mega-Evolution, Pokemon-Amie, and a really good story! Plus the new Pokemon models look great. ^^

If you remember Gold/Silver/Crystal fondly, HeartGold and SoulSilver are great games as well. The best of the old games, with many of the new improvements with the more recent generations. :)

Unfortunately, I found the Black/White series to be a huge disappointment. Story had potential but I really didn't like many of the Pokemon or many of the other features in the game. The zoomed-in pixelated images of Pokemon in battle looked really terrible too. As a game in of itself, it's solid and well-done, but compared to all the other Pokemon games that are out, I don't recommend it. But that's just my opinion; I'm sure there are other people that did enjoy it. :3

I think for someone who's just getting back into pokemon, X and Y is the way to go. c: Super fun. You get trainer customization, which is awesome in itself, Pokemon Amie which gives you perks in battle (and just flat-out adorable. ;u; ) and if you ever decide you want to start battling other trainers competitively, Pokemon X and Y make it really easy to get prepared for that with Super Training. I was never able to get into it in previous gens because the process was too complicated, for me, anyway. Lots of other people did it, but I never understood it. xD Not to mention X and Y have just made it ten times easier to trade/battle with others in general. The story is alright, the after-game is pretty much nonexistent, but hours of fun is to be had with trading with others and battling if you decide to go that route. If not, the game by itself is still quite a blast. c:

I'd say X and Y, because they far exceeded my expectations. I have to admit that I was one of the people that kinda feared how much of a change it would be to previous generations, but I found it actually satisfies the nostalgia factor by giving subtle nods to the older games while also having a really immersive and fun storyline of its own. It definitely feels like a substantial length, as well, especially with all the added extras like customisation and the presence of the 'friend' characters who pop up along the way. Like others have already said, it was definitely a refreshing update to the series after the slight letdown of the B/W games.
