the ci/desc for these items would explain that they're meant to be like sketches from an old, messy artist's sketchbook. they're supposed to look penciled. i like the look, but i dunno if it'll fly. still, there are items like this: and that are artistically stylized, their medium just happens to be paints and my ideas are pencil.

do boots like this exist on subeta? 'cause if not i have a need. i can't believe i might damn myself to make shoes again.

i also once upon a time had an idea for paint splatter/streak backgrounds in general colors, sorta to go along with my non-background background idea. i'd love to have one of these for my current HA tbqh.

for these id probably end up doing them for 450csc tops and doing dark blue/red/black and other colors if theres enough interest for anything in particular. maybe light blue, light pink or cream, those are kinda popular. who knows.

It's an interesting idea, with the idea of having more abstract things to layer with your HA instead of only scenic like bgs or foregrounds.

Are the ideas you're showing here just that, ideas? Not like, final products? Cuz, it's quite obvious they are scans from pictures from books or grabbed from somewhere off the internet- which is totally not allowed (and could get you in trouble, so you can't trace anything either). Plus, if you want to make it a foreground item, it would just be the black part, not the white- otherwise it'd not really work properly as a foreground layered item. I also can't really tell if they are foreground items either... cuz none of them are actually layered on top of the HA like you are suggesting you want them to be. Cool idea though, I bet many people would like some of these if you made them, like the feathers (even the music is pretty neat).

theyre ideas, but most of them made from brushes edited by me. there's no white in them, they'd just be the black part. i have some with white up there just to show how they are without the HA. I guess it's kinda hard to tell, but you can see on the ones without the HA that the item goes right over where the avatar would be, except for the face. that's how it's a foreground item. they're all layered on top, they'd just fall into the 'less than 50% of the HA covered' foreground item category, which exists. Okay, I couldn't see the diff since there was no plain example. Still, good idea. However, edited brushes won't fly by staff if you're considering those to be a final product. It's okay to be inspired by said brushes, but you're going to have to do them yourself by scratch because otherwise it will probably fall under the category of theft and they're not lenient on that at all. Just a precautionary warning there. Still, good idea overall.

The idea is rather interesting, but i agree with . Especially the drawn bg's, like the skull, are going to be a problem.

You really have to do everything from scratch, premade brushes are not exactly welcome and you are not allowed to trace over existing images either. =/ In regards to this, i personally would say the musical notes might be the easiest to do. The full bg's (like those two in the upper row) shouldn't be a huge problem either, but require quit a bit of work.

(btw, i personally really like the full bg with stripes, in the upper row. not buying cw's, so i might not be very helpful, but i like this idea. xD)

These are great, though unfortunately is very right. They definitely wouldn't fly with staff edited or not. However, I would love to see what you do on your own because this is such a great idea.

since you seem t'know a lot, can you tell me what you think of these? these are completely drawn versions of the above [using line tool and brushes, etc], still transparent and overlaying the avatar.

Those look pretty cool. Is the last one like a perfume bottle? Slightly hard to tell.. xD;; I like the idea for sure. I'm not /entirely/ sure if they would be accepted with a sketchy look, honestly. I mean, there's not like a 'cell style' you can really do for that, ... but unfortunately, you can't ask staff if it would pass, cuz they don't give what they call 'pre-approvals'. So your best bet on that is to submit it and see if they accept it. I would also still be careful about the look of everything, even if you drew them by sight and not tracing, you'll have to prove it to subeta if they suspect any sort of tracing (which happens sometimes). I do think the idea is really neat and I hope they are popular once you have them all refined. =)

thanks for the tips, they've been really helpful. i know sketchy stuff is typically frowned upon but there've been a few items like borders such as and ] which obviously aren't shaded and even foreground items like that have little to no shading so who knows, maybe it'll fly. i'll see if i can give it a go with some of these.

True on those items for sure. Tho, one diff with those compared to the stuff you're showing here is that they have crisper lines all around, and not a faded look. But yeah, can always try and see what staff says. =) GL!

i actually drew the makeup, hah. ended up not really liking it so i wasn't gonna sell it.

Came out great to me. I thought it came from the morostide makeup kit.
