I honestly don't know. I've hit a failblock with my art. I feel as if it's lacking something, just doodles on a meaningless canvas. My art is nowhere where I want it to be. How does one make their art more expressive? I've been experimenting with a more painterly-like style.
I don't like it that much.
Let me pull up a few examples of what I want to be able to do:
Zeth's Onslaught Silent in the Morning Wierd Landsape Two Little Red Riding Hood Tree of Lava
So, what do you propose? Go ahead, rip my art to shreds. Just br00tal crits without compliments to soften the blow. I can handle it, trust me. :)
Thank you.
i'm not very sure, i'd say work on lighting and the neat-ness of your painting.
painting is messy, definitely, but once you have everything defined you should be able to go back and add the smaller details, etc that are able to clean up everything else
i'm not sure how to explain it, but your digital paintings look.. unfinished? i suppose it looks more like in the second or third stage of painting - the shadow defining and highlights but needs some touching up and sharpening?
such as in this piece. i suppose there are some soft and some hard spots on shading itself - and you're missing the harder / sharper parts.
sorry if your pieces are supposed to be like that, i didn't really read through any descriptions on the deviation
i'm still quite jealous, i just tried my first attempt at speed painting today and your art is still very impressive. (:
Thank you! I totally see what you mean about it being unfinished.
The example was from about september. x3 It's quite old and is a perfect example for what you mean.
Aww, thanks! oWo
i hope you don't mind i do this o wo
sharpening edges, defining harder shadows, lighting, etc. it seemed you had an extra light source - but it was inconsistant so it was not supposed to be there. which is why the cat leg shadows on the .. dog.. goat.. thing shouldn't be there same with the shadow on the cat's tail don't be afraid to use bolder lines - such as for fur and etc because it's natural and super small brushes exist in real life as well artists will use definition with gel pens too, so if you're imitating painting digitally - it'll be needed
bear with me because i really don't know that much about lighting myself i know the shadows were wrong - not so sure how they were supposed to be i couldn't texturize things as well because basically all i used was the watercolor tool on SAI - which makes everything very smooth
i didn't really correct much on the cat - i got lazy. lmfao.
I don't mind in the slightest bit! Actually, that was a big help. Thank you!
I honestly can't thank you enough for this. It's a super big help and very much appreciated. :) I'll be sure to keep those things in mind on my next picture.
