Well, I'm an 8th grader and I am supposed to show some future middle schoolers around the school. Before we do that we have to tell a bit about ourselves and some advice for them, and no negative comments. Do yall have any ideas in what I can tell them, something unique that they'll remember, and that I won't get in trouble for saying?

The only thing I can recommend to tell them is to REALLY not stress. It's only middle school, y'know? Tell them to strive to get good grades, but right now... Going over the top is unnecessary.

Tell them to enjoy middle school while they can, because high school is a whole other ball game. :]

Tell them not to worry too much.

I know when I first started middle school, I was afraid that I'd get lost and all of that jazz.

But once you're into school a week or two, you're comfortable by then. ^_^

Those are pretty good ideas, though everyone knows there's no elevator pass... any more suggestions?

Oh. And tell them that having a boyfriend/girlfriend in middle school will not last. They are not feeling true love. It's just merely raging hormones!

Edit: Aaaaand that don't worry. Just because you don't get kissed by the time you're in 8th grade... It's not the end of the world. |:

Hehe, tell them that "relationships" in middle school don't mean anything. And tell them that that doesn't really change in highschool, either. And if they do get into a relationship, remind them that friends are more important than boys / girls.

Tell them that it's okay if you think you don't fit in, because you'll eventually find your niche. Tell them Bill Gates was made fun of and look at how well he's doing. And that Einstein's teachers thought he was mentally impaired because he had issues reading -- turns how he was dyslexic and he went on to be one of the most influential scientists in the world! ;)

This is good advice, though whether they'll actually follow it is doubtful. I've heard it so many times and yet people still totally freak out over midyears, finals, test, etc. etc.

But it couldn't hurt.

Only hug when you mean it.

... When you go to high school, 'hug' gets replaced by 'fuck.'

Whatever grade you're in, it's always a good idea to take a tour of the campus and figure out where all of your classes are beforehand. Like, tell them, "Math classes are over here, English department is over there, etc."

I concur with all of the don't-stress-over-grades-and-girl/boyfriends-just-yet stuff, and I feel the same goes with silly rumors. 99% of the time they're not true anyway, and if you blow a gasket over them you'll just be feeding the trolls (so to speak). And don't judge others by rumors about them, either, seeing as most of them aren't true. ;)

PE seems to freak kids out; tell them not to be all whiny and mopey about it and to just do their best. A good PE teacher will understand that not everyone is a star athlete and will be decent to you as long as you participate.

Tell them to be themselves and don't try to be friends with everyone. You can't make everyone happy. Find a good group of friends and keep them

Personal experience makes for great stories. If there's a story about something you went through during middle school that you think has a good moral to it, try sharing it... and make it fun and interesting for them to listen to. The kids won't pay a bit of attention if they don't think you're cool, I'm sure... make your stories funny and try to include them, and don't seem like a complete prude. xD

Also, let them know it's important to be themselves and have fun while focusing on their studies. If they fuck up, they will probably regret it later. I know I did.

you dont need any advice. just take it in a stride, nothing is as bad as it seems. school is not a big bad world. just relax.

i hate this time of year because everyone gets out of school and needs ADVICE OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO GET EATEN ALIVE IN HIGH SCHOOL

only if you let yourself. it's just school. relax and dont be intimidated by anyone.

Even if they meet people they don't get along with in middle school, chances are you'll rarely encounter them in high school (that is, if you don't live in a little-populated district).

Middle school is fun when it comes to work and all, but make sure to allot enough time to studying to build up an adequate work ethic.

Last, if you're going to make mistakes, middle school is the time to make them! ;)

Tell them to practice their combination locks. IF YOU DO ANYTHING, PRACTICE THE LOCKS. D|

God, that was the worst thing during middle school for me. You can't open the lock, and you try and try, and the hall monitor is screaming "Girl with the hair, you're LATE for class," and you're crying, and no one's helping, and adsfasdf.

Practice the fucking combination locks.

Lmao, Chime, seems like you're a pretty stressful person.

We didn't have hall monitors.

But my advice, KEEP YOUR LOCKER CLEAN.

It helps a WHOLE LOT.
