I know that the colored elixirs (like, Lilac ___ Elixir, or Arid ____ Elixir) obviously turn the pet into that COLOR of that species....

But what about elixirs that don't have a color? That are just the SPECIES elixir? Do they change the pet into the Common version of the pet, or do they keep the current color? ^^

I'm asking because The Pet Zapper just made my pet into a Chibi Malticorn, and I'm curious if I can make it a chibi something ELSE... ^^;;

The elixirs with no color in the name will change your pet to the common color of that species.

If you have a Chibi pet you want to change the species of, but keep the color, your only option is the Miracle Potion 2. It's FAR cheaper to just buy a new Chibi Potion though

Just a regular species elixir will turn your pet into that common color of that species. Unfortunately, you are unable to retain the same color. I wish we could though. xD
