Well tonight we are raging on fire AGAIN. All year round now with huge losses..evacuations all the time and threats looming. We even have water dropping heli's all night now. Starting to think Oregon starting sounds good, cool DAMP!! Wow..come to Subeta for the great escape..funny thing. but usually when i run around the forums something can make me laugh and i appreciate it it so. Cannot sleep well with family and friends in trouble. So now all the schools are closing..,we do not have snowdays..we have firedays. This is nuts and scary even though it is not new to me..so tell me something about where you live any repeat issues..any fun events? or something offbeat and distracting please :) See what happens when events here end... i lose focus...if i was still chasing flowers, that in itself might be enough!

I live in Oregon. We have the same problem sometimes. I'm originally from Southern California. I miss it there. Here, in the summer it's nearly as hot, but with really high humidity 80% of the time. Autumn, winter, and early spring are constant rain. Although in spring it's steaming hot while it's raining. So, yeah... It's really only cool and damp in early autumn. Winter is nothing but freezing sleet.

whoa..so you lived around this area and prob know about the fires ravage..it just comes all the time now..it's terrible. so i did NOT know about the humidity thing in Oregon!! with the rain..do you cope..how? does it cause problems..roads schools closing at times?? if we move there we would have to have a room just for plants full spectrum lights beach chairs hammock and sand!!maybe a bird flying around in it...should be able to afford that extra room where it would be sunny all the time :)

yes s. cal. just not up in mnts..but fire is heading higher through canyons and up. since you are a woodland creature minlger of sorts (your HA) perhaps you could put in an order for the winds to not return tomorrow?!? mother nature should listen to you..

But also occasionally bipolar. Today it's been sunny and 70 and icy rain at 40, gone back and forth three times already. Summer is pretty decent, winter can suck. Haven't really had any closings in the past year except for one snow day and one flood day. Humidity is pretty high but I moved here from Alabama so it doesn't bother me at all.

I could never live in S Cali, I'm deathly afraid of house fires and things, I would NEVER sleep. Hope you and your family are all alright. :(

UUGGHH tonight it is getting worse again from when the sundowners kick in. some of this where its heading just burned last July..so i am going to run away and play games here :). NW Washington sound pretty harsh..need to he right hearty to live there! The beauty of it there in Wash and Oreg though really appeals!! Good Music scene too AND coffees right???

And yeah, good music and art scenes. I'm in Oly so I'm deep embedded in the Indie culture zone. Lots of bikes, public transit is mostly bio-diesal.

Sound great small shops of all kinds too i bet. LLUUVV it. Is Oly a big city..like with towering downtownish or??

aaww there are now black bears and wildlife sitings heading towards town..this fire is worsening jumping hopeful highway barriers and jumping all over the place. gotta go play games to get a laugh from someone..always find a rip there..

Nah it's not really big, they keep the buildings under like 4 stories so people can see the water and the parks and Mt Rainer. Lots of parks, and people playing guitar in parks. Lot of thrift stores, body mod places, and eco boutiques. It's pretty calm, even though some weird stuff will just make you stop and look twice, so it's not really for anyone that wants bustling chaos.

well.. might get into oregon late summer for a visit but no farther north. another time though!

They are handing out masks now they air is so bad..ash flying around and landing EVERYWHERE..many wearing them already!

No one ever hears about the fires in Florida. :P

So strange how they happen, even in our humid weather.

We have issues with tornadoes here. A minor tornado (compared to others) came through our town a little over a year ago. I believe it was an EF1.

We happen to be under a tornado watch right now. Ergh, tornadoes scare me to death. D;

Typhoon we seem to watch florida get nailed over and over by hurricanes though!! that is tough

KatieTheFlamingo....tornadoes are SO sveere and random in there wake..man you could see them coming and then switch.they change tracks..

I heard like up in dakotas the winters are totally brutal beyond belief??
