When you get a Gold Account, you can adopt up to ten, and yes, you keep them after it expires, though if you pound you'll have to get a GA medal again to regain that slot. You can buy a Gold Account Medal through the Cash Shop or user's shops.

After that, it's Mystical Montre Plushies and Mystical Donadak Plushies to build it up one or two slots at a time respectively, up to a limit of 20 pets. sighs Which, sadly, still isn't enough.

The plushies used to be more expensive, but they dropped the price a little. People who had bought plushies before the price drop were allowed to get up to 22 pets.

You could get more pets by becoming a Gold Account Member, (you're able to get 5 extra pets for a total of ten) using a Mystical Montre Plushie (one extra slot), or by using a Mystical Donadak Plushie. (two extra slots) :)
