Could use someone to explain it to me c: I was directed to this board to receive instructions/ a basic rundown of just exactly what they are. I've seen a couple, but I don't really understand them, how they work or where you get them.

So any help is appreciated!

You get users to make them for you...they are basically a recolor or redraw of a subeta pet to your specifications. A lot of mine have overlays if you want to see them...like Slytherin and Khan and Henna. If you want to look around for them try the art market.

Oh I see, so it's not something you buy from shops..it's something you get others to commission for youuu. So then to make them work I'm assuming you just use a code in the pets description?

Well, technically you do buy them in a shop of sorts. Most users who do the overlays set up their own art shop. But yes you commission them and code them into the pet description. The code to make it look right should be in the profile forums.
