To get jobs your pet needs to have reasonable intelligence, gained by reading books. You can ask for a promotion, each time you read like 3-4 books to your pet, so Get job read 4 books, ask for promotion, get promotion, repeat steps.

You will get fired if you ask for a promotion too often, or without enough intelligence you will get fired.
