My art doesn't seem to be good enough at all. That makes me sad. A few erase marks? that means you worked hard on it! Ugh.... maybe I'll not do art on subeta cuz I get no commissions anyway....

Then just work on it.
By the way, people like clean art.

Didn't you make this board already? I believe a few people gave you some advice and you didn't want to follow it?

Not bothering to remove smudges gives off the impression you don't put 100% into commissions.

There are a LOT of artists on subeta so you have to know what to charge and what you're up against.

I would recommend investing in 1.a scanner, those are always good, 2.a vinyl erasers are fairly cheap and erase well, 3. some better study of what people look for in art, just look around the Imagination Station and see what people like and do not like to buy.

If you don't think your art is good enough, practice. That's the only way you'll get better. The magical drawing fairy doesn't just pop in one day and give you the power to draw well. Work at it, and you'll see results!

Try a different kind of pencil. C: If you press too hard you end up ruining the paper, and then it's really hard to get clean lines. Maybe a different lead would be more suited to your drawing style.

Good luck, stay positive, and always keep practicing. n_n

I think "good art" is really up to the person looking. One person might like your picture, someone else might not. Next to Picasso, it might be crap art. Next to mine (or anyone else that doesn't draw), it's fantastic art!

I haven't seen your art, so I don't know what it's like. Just keep practicing like everyone said. Although this post makes you look like you're just looking for sympathy and pity, especially with this

People who are successful with their art were able to take criticism and also had the ability to know what was useless and also what might have helped them improve and didn't give up. Just listen to songs on the radio and also to how many people who say those songs are crap. but in the end, the musicians are being paid bucket loads to sing and play those songs but people who do think they are great.

Then find alternatives. Use school's or library's scanner. Ask to use a friend's scanner because everything you're saying gets translated to this into my brain:

Bawwww, just &;cuz I have some eraser marks people won&;t buy my art. And I&;m unwilling to do anything to change that.

I used to take photos of my art when I didn't have a scanner or tablet. Then in photoshop (which I got for free off the internet, but there are other free programs too) I would do the line art very cleanly with the pen tool and then shade and such with the pen tool.

:] No scanner necessary. You just have to work with what you've got, or make do.

yep. there are lots of free editing sites like picnik or splashup that can make a photo of a tradional work look clean, and almost digital.

like everyone said: keep practicing, and seek out other options to make your art mor accessible to others.

I also seem to recall another board by you about a similar topic.

Offer free art for a while to get some practice in with requests. Save your money for a scanner. They aren't really that expensive. Too young to get a job? Do extra chores for more allowance. No allowance? Do odd jobs around the neighborhood, mow lawns, wash cars. The possibilities are endless.

You seem to want to be instantly good, and instantly able to charge for you art. This attitude is going to end up undermining the work you have put in thus far. It will run you ragged. Look up some reference material. Do studies of what things look like, the shapes and contours of things. If you are in school, try an art course next year, if not, take an art class.
