well, each time I'm trying to do something nice with it, it sucks so much and I never finish. So, must there be any regulatings or something? Only when I try to do a straight line, it goes anywhere. I mean, it's rather easy with a pencil, but I can't do it with my tablet.

Well, I wanted to create that topic to make people post their first digital paintings and then their latest, to see if I really suck or if there stills hope xD. And anyway, I though it would be nice to see people's progress.

I don't actually have any really old tablet art on this computer. ^^ Or on my photobucket. Which will helpfully dismiss me from posting my crap~!

Um. What type of tablet do you use? o.o I mean, size and quality will account for a lot of it. Yes, your lines will be shaky when you start, but they shouldn't be [i]too[/] bad.

But if you're using a small tablet there isn't much you can do about it. I use an Intuos 3. Which is pretty much top of the line, crazy awesome stuff. I use a 6 by 4 inch. Which translates to: even if it's a great quality tablet, the surface-to-screen ratio still makes it impossible for me to ink digitally without a program that uses stabilization. Flash is my savior for line art, needless to say. ^^"

Uh, another thing you may want to check is if it's for a standard or widescreen computer. Using a widescreen tablet on a regular monitor- and vice versa - could help contribute to your issues.

[edit] Edit for helpfulness~ You could always try inking traditionally and coloring digitally. I did that for years.

Make sure that your tablet it parallel to your screen. If that isn't very clear I'll illustrate for you :) This keeps your lines running in the direction you mean them to. Starting with a tablet is a bit of an ordeal, no one is instantly awesome!

It's actually more tricky than it seems due to mental perception, it's a whole perceiving space issue that's kind of funny. I use a 6x4 Intuos 3 and while it did take some practice I feel that I'm fairly good with it now.

One thing, there is no such thing, as far as I have seen as a widescreen tablet. Your surface will map to whatever size screen you have, you may want to check your tablets setting to ensure that your mapping is the way you would like.

As for digital ink, this can be a bit of a pain, even to people who have been using tablets for years. If you find that your lines are looking a little shaky try zooming in to make them more smooth.

With tablets, much like other things, size doesn't particularly matter, it is more personal preference than anything else, as someone using a a 6x4 can produce equal quality art as someone using a 18x12 tablet.

Experiment and try to be patient, it all pans out in the end. I promise :P

Actually, Graphire went through and made some. o.o I remember seeing that, and thinking "COOL!"

But the rest of your post I totally second. :)

Random little question: Does anyone know if they or someone else can make me a small little piece of art? Comment me for more. I need one before the 14th.

you should ask in the freebies, you'll have more success.

onecoolc> thanks for the advice, I realize I never tried this before ><. Shall be simpler indeed. My tablet is quite small comparing to my screen, but since I got it for a long time, I think I've lost the documentation, so I can't tell you more ''>>.

Tricksparrow> I'm not sure to understand what you mean by ''paralell'', I shall draw with my tablet verticaly? ^o)... And thanks for the advices, I'll try when I can install it on my ''new'' computer [old one, and the disc section is broken, I can use but not install it =3=]

uhm... no one wants to post creations?
