Alrighty, so I was playing Pokemon Crystal (still am :P) and I went into Pallet Town and into Red's house.
Now I went upstairs and saw a bed, computer, TV, and a table that 'hasn't been used in a long time.'
Nothing interesting there, so I went downstairs. And then it hit me...
Where does his MOTHER sleep? O____O ANY of the mothers! Every game, there's just ONE bed for YOU! Poor Mommy needs some friggin sleep!
And they aren't even double beds. Just a single bed.
Honestly, mothers aren't invincible o__o
But it's gotta be better than Blue's house.
There isn't a bed to be found there.
People who've never played GSC probably don't even know what the hell I'm talking about XD
So what are some things that don't make sense to you?
Hahah good point! Maybe his mum has been longing for the day that he moves out, so that she finally gets to sleep in a bed xD So she's all awwh you're leaving well here's some pokegear ok bye.
I know, really XD The gamers fail at logic. They need to give that chick a bed.
...
How did she even HAVE her kid if she doesn't have a bed? Maybe she and the father did it in the kitchen sink...
It's kind of like in movies. You have to leave some of your sensibility behind and go with the flow.
Like when I saw this movie the other day. THEY DID NOT HAVE RICHARD NIXON AS PRESIDENT IN THE 50's. :(
DAMN. I was seriously thinking the same thing the day before yesterday...it's odd. There's clearly whole families living in some houses..and often only one bed lol. There's no other floors and no other rooms.
But I suppose you probably shouldn't look to far into it...it's pokemon after all, lol. I noticed though, after playing yellow, then pearl, they seem to make more of a big deal that 'oh noes, a child is leaving home...alone!' in the latter. Haha, maybe they realised how weird it was for a small kid to travel alone.

I know XD Those kids are only, what, ten? Eleven maybe?
I remember when I was ten. I took my little Pikachu plushie and told my mother 'I am leaving to go on my Pokemon adventure...... Can you drive me to Professor Oak's house?'
Wow...ish there at least a couch for her to sleep onO.O I sleep on a couch (I don't has me own room or bed at me house, one of the many perks of going away to college).
I'd be staring at her like... 'Do you sleep on those, or what? .______.'
Nope. Just a kitchen and a table XD
Lol, I've always felt the same! For all we know, maybe the reason our character wants to go out on adventure's so much is because mommy was hogging the bed!
And the characters apparently have no need for washrooms as well :c (which may be because we don't seem to eat either xD)
Yeah, I know. There are a lot missing details in those games. The houses just consist of a downstairs and an upstairs (your room). Then the houses of strangers are just one room, usually no bed.
Plus those trainers who stand around and wait for you to come along so they can battle? THEY NEVER GO ANYWHERE. They're always there. So creepy.
I love how the people don't need to drink, eat, or go potty. c:
I'm currently working away at my Diamond game.
she probably just sleeps in your (players) bed, i mean, you're always out playing with your little pokemon... having fun.... mommy has to remember you somehow.... sheets are a little stained....
The father figure is always away too. :/ She must be desperate.
Well, if you notice, the people never sleep in the game.
So what use is a bed? xD
they probably just throw big orgies involving everyone in the whole town. it's a village of what, 5? those close knit type groups always start inbreedin and trouble starts and then you gotta...
well trouble starts.
I know what's missing from those houses:
Fuckin' TOILETS. Where the hell are all the bathrooms? D8
And I heard some rumour that Ash's mom had an affair with Giovanni or something. Or Ho-Oh is really Ash's dad, and Ash's mom did some kinda swan-fucking-straight-out-of-Greek-mythology thing.
The one thing that always gets me is the fact that even in small areas, whether grass patches or ponds, is that you never run out of pokemon to fight, I mean if you fight non-stop, I get the feeling that all the pokemon should faint at some point, especially in the ponds, I mean, that eight by eight square of water can't possibly have 900 Magikarp in it, much less Gyrados, or is it that deep...
Also, if you cut down a patch of tall grass, shouldn't you see some Pokemon, like, scatter? I mean, they live in that grass, so if you cut it down, they should all run into the next available grass. And if you cut down the last piece of grass in an area, you should see a freakin' stampede of Pokemon go running off-screen. xD Whenever I cut down tall grass, I imagine tons of Pokemon running and screaming all over the place x)
And then, after you defeat them, they stay there forever, sadly defeated. There's usually a promise that they'll work to get better. But they never do. They never leave.
When you say that, I think of this. I laugh every goddamn time.
Prof. Oak, you dirty old man. :c
