I drew this just this morning, it took me about 2-3 hours, it's for an rp I made, he's a character of mine. I have the drawing part down, but when it comes to coloring, I always end up completely ruining the picture.

here's my best coloring example, the pants are leather btw, nobody can really tell ^_^0 and he's supposed to look really worn down and out of it, he just got back from a really horrible battle where he had to do a lot of bad things.

Valithus

that's my very rare best coloring, I used a different style then I usually do, where I used the smudge tool, but I haven't been able to do it again DX it's so frustrating.

Yeah. You shouldn't smudge it like that. Your colouring looks messy when you do it.

Considering you have pretty bulletproof lineart, you should pen tool the whole thing, then colour it in cel-style - like how they colour it in animes.

yes yes. Much neater that way.

ah, thanks, but I know about layers and stuff, when I said I kill it, I really don't mean literally, I just mean that when I get done... well despite the fact that it might be good line art, I guess the way I color it, it just really looks like crap.
