Okay, I hit my pinkie on the doorway yesterday and it hurt really bad. I couldn't bend it without almost screaming. It still hurts now, but I can move it. If I bend it all the way so it is curled in to my palm, it hurts really bad. Also, if I press on it, it hurts like heck. So, I'm asking your opinions, is my finger broken, or no?

( This belongs in chit-chat.)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm incredibly clumsy and slam my fingers in doors and stuff all the time... Once, my sister hit my thumb with a tennis racket... Unless it was with incredible force, you'll probably be fine.

I doubt it's broken. Most likely, it's just hurting. (Maybe-maybe, you tore a ligament like I did, but even then, that's no big deal.) Plus, my doctor's always told me to keep moving it in those circumstances.

Okay, well, I hope that's the case. It seems kinds swollen and there's a small bruise. If it doesn't go away by Friday, I'll show it to my parents.

I don't think you broke it, personally. But I'm not a doctor.

Only because I slammed my thumb in a car door a few months ago, it got LOCKED in the car, and was in there at a weird angle for a few minutes before my mother could get the car unlocked. It got really swollen, and hurt like hell, but it wasn't broken.

So, I don't think yours is broken. If it's still hurting just as bad after, like, a week, though, then I'd see a doctor.

Hope that helps! x3

I'd say go see a doctor anyway, just to be safe.

I was in a really bad skiing accident a few years back and because the binding on my boot didn't release my ankle twisted up real bad. Mom didn't think it was broken and the medic at the ski place didn't think so either, but a week later I could barely put pressure on it so mom took me to the doctor.

Turns out I'd actually hairline fractured it, but by not doing anything it had turned into something much worse and I had to get pins put in my ankle instead of just having a cast and waiting for the fracture to heal on its own.

So, better safe than sorry. If it's nothing, then now you know, but if it's serious then it's best to know asap.

If it was broken, you wouldn't be able to move it at all. You most likely sprained it. Give it a few days and keep some ice on it and if it doesn't get better, than talk to your doctor

way-I had that happen too..

I't doesn't sound like a break if you can move it. Ice it on and off, and if it doesnt get better in a couple days, go to the doctor.

OR Most doctors/hospitals give you the option to call in and ask questions, free of charge. Call your doctor or local hospital, and ask for an over the phone opinion.
