I've had a couple of random events now where a Lizard scurries off with something after I find it.

is this to stop those lizards running off with the items? Is it unlimited use?

Yeah it is unlimited use it has a 50% chance of getting the item if you buy the you have a 75% chance of getting the item

Also, are there any random events that can take items away from your inventory? I would hate a 5mil lizard trap to be taken by some dumb random event....

Thehas a 25% chance of getting the item. Thehas a 50% chance of getting the item. Combined, they have a 75% chance of getting the item.

They are both unlimited and they MUST be in your inventory for them to work :)

[edit]I think there is an event that steals an item but I don't know if it can steal those items and if you use the zappers then be careful because they can zap stuff that are in your inventory :x

Got my repellant, saving for the trap now xD

Both the trap and the repellent can be dusted by the pet zapper (had my trap zapped once), so just make sure to put them away if you ever zap. I've also lost the items through accidentally donating them while quick stocking (yeah, I'm an idiot). Other than that, I don't think they are in danger, but I've been told I should always keep a third item in inventory, just in case.
